I thought of creating a section for custom firmwares in my PSP for Beginners' thread, but I thought that maybe that's not really a beginners' stuff. Oh well, I might just do it in the coming days. biggrin.gif

Guys,
- I have custom firmware, 3.52 M33
- lets say I have original game (UMD) which supports online play
- can I play it online or will Sony block my machine since I have a customized firmware?

Actually the custom firmware is the orignal firmware with some tweaks so we can play homebrew. So i should be ok. Actually do you guys have any problem playing any games that need a umd in the drive the 3.52 m33 firmware. Just asking. Maybe i did something wrong?

1 - If you are under official 1.50 PSP firmware, copy kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders from "1.50only/" of this download to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME/" and use it.
2 - Once done it, or if you are under any Special/Open Edition/M33, copy M33CREATOR folder to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME" (1.50fw) or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150" (SE/OE)
3 - Download official 3.52 eboot, rename it to 352.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
4 - Download official 1.50 eboot, rename it to 150.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
5 - Go to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33 CREATOR". Once finished, it will go back to the XMB.
6 - Go again to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33UPDATE". You'll have to press X to agree to the installation.
7 - When finished, press X to shut down and reboot manually.
8 - Enjoy your 3.52 M33 wink.gif

this is the read me file from 3.52 M33
i got few questions:
1. My one is 3.40OE....so i should follow step 1 or step 2??
2. THe step 3 and 4, we need to download the Official ourselves??or use the eboot inside the M33CREATOR folder?

if u are in 3.40oe or any of oe series, just skip the step 1.because step 1 is for those who are in 1.50.

A more precise explanation would be:

A custom firmware is a combination of two official firmwares:
- V1.50 (homebrew-able), and
- the latest decryptable firmware (latest features).

Your answers:
1. You can completely ignore Step 1 and proceed straight to Step 2.
2. Yes, you'll need to download official firmware updates by yourself. Then, put the two renamed firmware updates into the M33CREATOR folder.

Good luck. thumbup.gif

Haha, you're welcome. I was a beginner (n00b) so I understand the feeling of not-knowing-something-but-still-wanna-do-it thing. smile.gif

Well, for fake MSPDs, there are a major problem: damn slow transfer rates.

When you say slow rates... how slow is it? Are there any benchmarks for it?
I wanna know if mine is fake or real... unsure.gif
