so many people sulk on fd interest rate. pampered by 4.5% rate.

back in oct 2014, after opr increase, fd promo 3.87% to 4%. now the 3.95% and 4.05% by affin still not bad.

wait until another reduction of opr, that will be bad.
*
Actually affin can get 4.15% open BSA/ as another person suggested just apply for affin cc (affin cc is foc)

So right. Next OPR reduce, more people will cry as FD rates become more pathetic.

move to other quadrant instead fd.

hate these type of misleading ads..

anyway, dividen yields are more attractive than FD now.

U refer to dividend stock or Reits?
*
I had 2 pieces Fd placed for HLB 4.25% & 4.15% last July before the promo ended.
Last week, finally decided to uplift both and re routed it back to dividend stocks and reits last week. It's better to let them hibernate there than the low FD returns esp with the anticipation of lower OPR.

not an issue as long as it is within your acceptable return and risk.

Yeah, but still lower. Flexi loans so can dump in and take out anytime. smile.gif

Still have two FDs at 4.5% and 4.6% maturing by the end of the year. Probably dump into loans too.

Actually now the rate still not that bad yet. If there is another OPR drop later in the year, then the FD promo rate will be even lower. biggrin.gif

Still remember those days in 2009-10? Even 3% promo was celebrated like god sent.

This is one of the banks that do not usually give monthly interest on FD. Affin depends on being at or near top of board rates to attract FD depositors. Will be happy if they change their policy with regards giving monthly interest for FD promos. Specifically, there is NO monthly interest payment for the 4.15% FD package 2 promo I placed with them.

The market back then during 2009 and 2010 was pretty bad I would say. Maybe we are too used to the good times and right now, the market is slowing down and people cant/ dont want to accept it.
