I am utterly disappointed with this laptop. Bought in Nov 2006, just about a year ago and has gone through 2 repairs.....both also change mobo.

Im using V3125 running on AMD.

Will be switching to other brand after this. Fed up of the quality of the Compaq laptop.

I'm planning to get Vista Home Basic for the machine. But will still keep my XP Home inside.

what do u expect from a cheap laptop...they are all quite fragile and full of probs except maybe dell...compaq and acer are both having the same problems...cheap and lousy...but compaq has good customer service though

change once..all my fren having the same models changed too..
it happens on amd procs compaq lappie only.only 1 of my fren using intel got no prob on his mobo.
shud be the graphic card prob, noe y?i got 2 female frens having the same model but never change mobo till now..coz they din play DOTA at all..got another female fren died mobo last week but waranty over..coz her bro played DOTA with it..sad..we all changed coz DOTA...haih..

compaq aint a bad model..juz that HP took it back and changed its design..using g-force maybe isnt a good idea for amd..y not they hang bck with ATI ler?my gf using the presario m2000 series..old compaq model and design..never heard died mobo b4 for that design..its HP tangan gatal...

diiu or no diiu...i just check mine...simply play CS for a while GPU heat jump untill 93C....but one thing i feel weird.. if really that hot, how come when i touch the bottom of my lappy feels like ok oni...oni feel the heat from PROC and HDD oni....

anyone mine telling me where is the exact location of GPU?

93C is a 'best' record for ur lappie now?woooo...

try open up ur HDD casing, then u will see a small device right beside HDD...that must be the heat sensoring device i guess...and i think they have one beside GPU as well...

GPU stands for Graphic Processing Unit...correct me if im wrong...

some time really feel tulan when see the heat goes untill 93c...

but i still dont undastand...if really 93C, turn ur lappy around, then u can goreng telur liao...

but when i touch the bottom, not that hot also..

someone plz tell us where is the GPU....need to know where exactly it is...

Added on January 23, 2008, 4:17 pmok..when i check using the Nvdia Geforce temperature level...the core slow down threshold is 130c....so does it mean that around 100c is normal??? LOL!
