I think the problem is with Astro having 2 fiber partners Time & Maxis. They need solve the problem of selling a package at the same price point but vastly different speeds. Hope Astro and Time (and Maxis) can get it resolved quickly before it becomes another "Maxis unfair treatment" case.

BTW we Astro IPTV customers are paying TIME more for our 10mbps (before it was increased to 100mbps), rm148 vs rm129 if I'm not mistaken
*
The problem is Astro was shortsighted and they didn't negotiate long-term terms with Time. There should have been clauses that if Time adjusts their speed/pricing they should notify Astro, and allow them to tag along for their AstroIPTV-Time customers.

Very amateurish, but what do you expect right? Astro tongue.gif

I felt a lil bit doubt about the info given by AstroIPTV CS as the 1st person mentioned there is such 100Mbps package for paying same price (perhaps with additional 24 months contract). Maybe it will be for selected customer? Similar practice like Maxis that recently gone viral.
*
AstroIPTV clearly indicates TIME Internet 10Mbps at RM156.88 but now Time offering 100Mbps at RM149.

So who is the Fool here ? Astro being the fool and being shortchanged by Time or we the customers being the Fool for Astro ? If no longer in contract then TERMINATE Astro IPTV.

I called them a few times since late March and was informed in discussion everytime. Fed up, last week, I informed them I wanted to cancel.
Yesterday, they charge my Credit Card for another month. Today I called and they told me no record of cancellation request.

This time I made sure I had a reference number for the cancellation - but its still 30 days from today.

At least you are put of this toxic contract. Will cost me 1100 to cancel now, despit being a customer of theirs for many years. Really frustrating.

Actually it frustrates me as it's convenient to have Fibre Internet and Astro as a package but their current business practice of taking the customer as fools since they are "tied" to this convenience disgusts me.

Also their reluctance to issue/make known what their plans are after nearly a month other then "in discussion".

For all we know, Time could have offered the same speed 'upgrades' to Astro, at a price. And Astro may have said no to Time.
*
Then it's Astro's fault. Either way, Time shouldn't have allowed this. It would be in their best interests to maintain services across the board. People will say bad things about Time AND Astro because of this very bad, lop-sided affair. That's a difference of 90mbps!!!! AND Astro IPTV customers pay MORE!

It is most definitely an unfair treatment case. It doesn't matter if they have signed 2 providers/partners. If one partner increases their bandwidth, Astro should follow suit regardless of the other partner.

If Astro is willing to lose Astro IPTV (Time) customers, then they are foolish. Who wants to lose customers? Especially considering a lot of people are already unsubscribing to Astro. Is this even ethical?

Its customers for sure. Astro is taking its customers for a ride and taking us for granted (as usual).

No. As far I know..it just refresh back to 24 months.

Oh ya, my bad. Mistakenly read from 'small business' FAQ. Yeah, contract reset to 24 months, within or after contract. Even subscription already past 24 months, it will be reset back to 24 months.

Hi All, TIME currently offer their service in my condo.
Do you think its better to switch from my current ISP (Symph*net) to TIME.

I read in this forum, some of you subscribe for 100Mbps but only get 30 - 40 Mbps
Is it TIME have a stable connectivity?

Thank you guys for the reply

For me, coming from Unifi 30Mbps RM179, I can feel big improvement when subscribed to Time 100Mbps (which upgraded to 300Mbps for free) with the same price. But, I never able to get more than 40Mbps eventho speedtest showing 90Mbps something via direct LAN(my laptop support fast ethernet 100Mbps only). By using wifi, I never able to reach more than 10Mbps.

And the router that they give is a crappy one I think. I cannot get decent wifi signal from my bedroom at all. I need to use my old TL-1043ND as wifi repeater to get better signal.

So, yeah, maybe crappy router.

I believe those who are getting 30 - 40Mbps have carried out the testing on WiFi instead of LAN, WiFi is prone to interference/obstacle/device you are using/router etc, I am pretty sure you will get full 100Mbps on LAN cable if there is no issue on TIME Fiber side, if you are really stuck at 30 - 40Mbps, you can ask for help from jj or yeap (TIME Fiber distributors), they can help you on this.

I am on 500Mbps package, always get more than 500Mbps (off and on-peak), latency and speed to overseas' servers are quite decent too thumbsup.gif

Switching to TIME is a no brainer, it is much cheaper than other ISP and even if you really get 30 - 40Mbps only, you are still well ahead of other ISP, RM 149 for 30 - 40Mbps is not bad afterall in Malaysia (just make a comparison with UniFi and Maxis Fiber's pricing then you will know) laugh.gif

Yes, this router issue also become my consideration to switch from my current ISP.
If we subscribe 100Mbps but we only get 10Mbps, I think its not worth laugh.gif

But at least there is no break down issue, it cause no internet for several days (some time no internet for a week) that cause a lot of trouble
Hope TIME can provide good router for their customer thumbsup.gif

For new customer Time already updated router to Dlink 850L for 100mb and 300 mbps new user.

For 500mbps user , there is Linksys EA6350 are given

Both are AC router with better stability compared than the previous ZTE and Linksys e1200 router,

Their current dlink 850l is sufficient for normal usage. 100Mbps no issue via wifi. This really depend on your wifi devices capability.
