i am a long-time Maxis user and i finally cracked and ported over the Celcom yesterday.

and it was my turn to receive that call. when he told me that it's a special offer i had to LOL so loudly in the car. funny lah how desperate these people are. i was even sarcastic and told him to chuck in a free phone as part of the package.

how much they offer u ?

That will be pain in the ass process, below is my recent experience.

on 16 call maxis asking them how much i need to pay so i can port out my line, as they reply rm 258 due to phone contract, agree than pay - > fail to pork out, cause now they said i have out standing credit.

0n 18 -> settle that balance 400 (i paid extra), than port out, fail again, they said i have 2 sub line under my account, in fact i have no sub line, call them again and ask they said i change my sub line to this account last month (which i never), they said they will solve it for me.

20-03 port out fail again -> call cs -> they said no problem, should be able to port out.
22-03 port out fail again -> call cs -> samething
24-03 port out fail again -> call cs -> they said i have two subline under my account, ask them when they said i change in dec 2015 (last couple day said i change in feb 2016), they said solve for me.
25-03 port out fail again -> call CS and FARK (11am) them until their manager call back -> he told me is sub line issue but they can't help cause tech support is off duty and they don't work on weekend, so have to be next monday only can solve.
take me nearly ten day all payment paid but still can't pork out.

If you had sublines before, even though terminated they are still tied to your account, have to contact them to remove.
Had the same issue with the port out fails before, I visited their service center to sort out.

I'll tell Maxis, "Thanks, but no thanks". Celcom is still cheaper with almost similar coverage.

My Maxis corporate plan is RM150 for 10GB (Used to be 30GB 1+ years ago) + unlimited calls and sms, contract still another one year to go mad.gif mad.gif

Wife is already on Umobile, faster than Maxis where we usually are.

I'm not sure what Maxis is thinking currently with his competitor offering much more attractive packages with affordable price. Been a loyal user for maxis for a very long time but this time I had to let it go and jump to Celcom.

They really have nothing good to offer now, even their broadband internet plan is going down the road with the expended coverage from Time and UniFi.

The only ones remain in Maxis are those existing customer from zerolution and those who are still bounded by contract.

wow, if you are willing to go into that extend, then surely there is no more hope for MAXIS.

Their loyalty program is stupid (seriously), only call up to selected existing customer. What's the point of it while other teleco are offering their plan openly to every customer. doh.gif

I remember the day I request for cancellation and switch to Celcom, they said I have to pay for penalty, I told them I have been using this number for more than 8 years, what penalty? Then they claim that they will automatically renew the contract every 2 years (apparently, they claim that they can renew the contract without your consent). Have to go through a serious and rather tiring process to finally "talk" them to let me switch to Celcom (because I want to remain my phone number).

i been their customer for more than 20 year, last year i try to open a new line, they said i can't cause i'm blacklisted (without i knowing), tell me i have to paid 2k+ cause out standing since 2009.

than i asked them, black listed means i never ever can own a maxis line ? their answer is yes, so i requested them to refund all my payment since 2009 till 2015, cause i'm not qualify as their customer, it look like i paying to wrong account as my my line is not suppose to be exit ......
one hour later, they call and told that was a mistake ....
what the hell

Do you have an online account? If you log into it via maxis website, you can view all your sub lines(if any) parked under your account, they will still be there even though with "terminated" status.

Failed when tried to port out too, I contacted them, they kind of acted stupid and said those lines are already terminated, I have to tell them to "untie" the numbers from my account especially.

Wished I had your resolve but problem is my early termination penalty works out to 1200 right now (iPhone 6S Plus plan). I can think of so many better ways to spend that money than to donate it to maxis. Thing is I would never ever have signed a contract with maxis had I known they had such double standards. It's bad enough to offer East Malaysians one plan then now selectively pick and choose customers to offer special plans to. Were they thinking the rest of us would never find out?

Better check my account.

First time I hear about auto contract renewal. Bro, what plan are you on? Surely it's illegal to have contract without any reason
