I thought the maxis OnePlan 128 only had 3GB of data, but why is it 5GB in their ad for this special plan for EM customers? I think the quota for the other plans are higher as well. Have maxis been taking us WM customers for a ride all this while? I've not complained about paying the high prices for maxis before but when maxis shows favouritism to the other side like a bunch of politicians trying to score votes, then it's time to reevaluate this...

QUOTE(hensky @ Mar 13 2016, 11:25 AM) Question Is their coverage better than other telco by 100%? So they charge 100% higher than other telco? Btw i am both maxis and celcom users, no different in coverage. Sometime indoor celcom got signal, maxis no signal. Mainly in klang valley. Even if their coverage is better, I cannot fathom why would their Marketing department come up with such a blatantly discriminatory plan benefitting East Malaysia residents only and at the same time invite the wrath of West Malaysia customers, which makes up a huge percentage of their subscription base. It's a wonder the marketing department of U Mobile, DiGi and Celcom haven't seized the opportunity to troll maxis. Maybe they are sleeping too. That said, I just got myself a prepaid Celcom sim. Gonna start evaluating their network for the future. This post has been edited by attw: Mar 13 2016, 12:43 PM

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Mar 15 2016, 11:08 PM) well some are tempted with the offer & keep staying with Maxis Yes, for sure. But if you accept their offer it also means you can't buy a new device from them in the future coz then you will revert to their standard BS plans

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Mar 15 2016, 06:07 PM) I saw a few posts earlier that the posters were offered RM68 plan only when they refused to accept RM88 plan. Yes, Maxis went as low as Petaling Street vendor style, wait till you turn around and walk away only then offer you cheaper price. I like that statement. Petaling Street Vendor Style

QUOTE(Kellicros @ Mar 17 2016, 12:35 PM) Indeed, just port out and don't care about the special plan, they are like robbing you of RM50+ for each month you wait. I just ported to Digi, good riddance. On side note, you can always come back if they ever offer a better plan(with no double standards). Hopefully those porting out and offered special plan will be as principle-driven as you are, friend. QUOTE(reevephon @ Mar 20 2016, 08:23 AM) Exactly, thats why when she tell me its RM78 instead of RM68 I keep on saying I got friend being offered RM68 for the same package, then she keeps on telling its only for East Malaysia bla bla bla, end up I really lazy to argue with her anymore and just accept the offer since I think RM78 is not that bad. Better than 158, definitely

QUOTE(crusher @ Mar 20 2016, 01:37 PM) Already collected. And its not like majority is getting the plan being offered. You can check their FB post bro. Got many customers complaining about the treatment there and I've posted a few screenshots from this forum and other forums regarding the preferential treatment to select customers. I've been hassling them ever since their East Malaysia plan was announced, but I doubt you'll get the results you want if you really do make the complain. All the best though.

They are either losing customers who are porting out or being forced to offer cheaper packages to customers they have been taking on a ride all this while. While this isn't fair to the other customers who are contract (such as yours truly, ha ha), I believe the loss of revenue will impact them more or less. I can't fathom how they can just launch something for East Malaysia so blatantly without giving a thought on how their customers in Peninsular Malaysia will react. Or do they intentionally want this reaction? Either way, I'm sure Mr. Lundal will be giving their marketing folks a big bonus this year for a job well done.

QUOTE(jimbet1337 @ Mar 21 2016, 07:19 AM) I remember they did a test run (June 2015-Dec 2015) by giving free 2GB on top of basic 2GB for Surfmore50. 4GB total. Now back to 2GB basic. They should have just maintained it that way Surfmore 50 having 4GB basic data is somewhat fair. I have the Surfmore 50 for my iPad and did enjoy the additional 2GB data during the said period above but it wasn't a test run, they said it was a promotion (probably coz the Surfmore 50 wasn't selling that well). Anyways, it's a very outdated plan with very expensive call and SMS rates. My contract for this plan ends in February next year - I could also terminate it now and just pay RM300 plus, which I am seriously considering

QUOTE(junecheah @ Mar 21 2016, 07:08 PM) i called 123 2 times asking abt porting out, contract termination, etc.. and still they dont even want to offer me the special package. guess im not in their special list.. i somemore ask how many years my acct w maxis and she replied 13 yrs but no special privileged as well. I think as long as you're on contract they won't offer you anything. They seem to target those maybe on Surfmore 50 and not on contracts. Maybe offer them 5GB, free calls, etc. for MYR78 so that's additional MYR28 monthly and imagine they manage to get 100,000 customers.. More than enough to cover those disgruntled customers who ported out. Other than that, no idea what is their selection criteria.

QUOTE(x-frame @ Mar 21 2016, 07:14 PM) Guys, why are u guys so loyal? If it's because it's convenience and you guys dont want to change then it's your own problem. I am always not loyal to any telco. If there is any telco that gives me a better deal, I will hop instantly. Provided, no contract. Changing from 1 telco to another is very very simple. Dont even need to change number... why stay loyal? Learnt my lesson already. No more contracts with telcos.

QUOTE(ftan @ Mar 22 2016, 07:05 AM) I didn't get any call from Maxis yesterday. Guess I'm no longer in their special list. Somehow I doubt it, they may be too busy and forgotten to call you back. If you really want the offer then just call them, am sure you will get it.
