I thought the maxis OnePlan 128 only had 3GB of data, but why is it 5GB in their ad for this special plan for EM customers? I think the quota for the other plans are higher as well. Have maxis been taking us WM customers for a ride all this while?

I've not complained about paying the high prices for maxis before but when maxis shows favouritism to the other side like a bunch of politicians trying to score votes, then it's time to reevaluate this...

Even if their coverage is better, I cannot fathom why would their Marketing department come up with such a blatantly discriminatory plan benefitting East Malaysia residents only and at the same time invite the wrath of West Malaysia customers, which makes up a huge percentage of their subscription base. It's a wonder the marketing department of U Mobile, DiGi and Celcom haven't seized the opportunity to troll maxis. Maybe they are sleeping too.

That said, I just got myself a prepaid Celcom sim. Gonna start evaluating their network for the future.

Yes, for sure. But if you accept their offer it also means you can't buy a new device from them in the future coz then you will revert to their standard BS plans

You can check their FB post bro. Got many customers complaining about the treatment there and I've posted a few screenshots from this forum and other forums regarding the preferential treatment to select customers. I've been hassling them ever since their East Malaysia plan was announced, but I doubt you'll get the results you want if you really do make the complain. All the best though.

They are either losing customers who are porting out or being forced to offer cheaper packages to customers they have been taking on a ride all this while. While this isn't fair to the other customers who are contract (such as yours truly, ha ha), I believe the loss of revenue will impact them more or less.

I can't fathom how they can just launch something for East Malaysia so blatantly without giving a thought on how their customers in Peninsular Malaysia will react. Or do they intentionally want this reaction? Either way, I'm sure Mr. Lundal will be giving their marketing folks a big bonus this year for a job well done.

I have the Surfmore 50 for my iPad and did enjoy the additional 2GB data during the said period above but it wasn't a test run, they said it was a promotion (probably coz the Surfmore 50 wasn't selling that well). Anyways, it's a very outdated plan with very expensive call and SMS rates. My contract for this plan ends in February next year - I could also terminate it now and just pay RM300 plus, which I am seriously considering

I think as long as you're on contract they won't offer you anything. They seem to target those maybe on Surfmore 50 and not on contracts. Maybe offer them 5GB, free calls, etc. for MYR78 so that's additional MYR28 monthly and imagine they manage to get 100,000 customers.. More than enough to cover those disgruntled customers who ported out. Other than that, no idea what is their selection criteria.

Learnt my lesson already. No more contracts with telcos.

Somehow I doubt it, they may be too busy and forgotten to call you back. If you really want the offer then just call them, am sure you will get it.
