I'll tell Maxis, "Thanks, but no thanks". Celcom is still cheaper with almost similar coverage.

My Maxis corporate plan is RM150 for 10GB (Used to be 30GB 1+ years ago) + unlimited calls and sms, contract still another one year to go  mad.gif  mad.gif

Wife is already on Umobile, faster than Maxis where we usually are.

Nope knowing that...

- there are cases/offers of same package with lower price
- lower price from other telcos

good answers from both of you

Do not accept anything  higher than the two packages below.
RM68 for 5GB + unlimited calls + Spotify
RM88 for 8GB + unlimited calls + Spotify

i think maxis is offering RM118 for 7GB to test the market
*
with the info above, that would be our benchmark, when it comes to 'special' offer by maxis. Reject everything else! we work as one! Now Maxis will know

I checked back my monthly bills, bcos I have 2 supplimentary lines under my mainline, the offer price of RM118 will not reflect much on my total bill per month. At the most RM10-RM20 difference (if I make alot of calls that month)
My main usage is just the data, not alot of voice calls, so the RM88 for 8GB data is the best plan I have seen from Maxis offers. Apparently they only offer "elite" members which I have no idea what that means vmad.gif
*
elite by Maxis definition is "Request To Port Out to other provider"

I'm with Maxis since 2000 - owing two primary lines with spending exceeding RM400 per month. Their marketing failure and arrogance managed to pissed me off and there are no benefits at all as their loyal customer for over a decade. Ported to DiGi today.

If you ask me personally, I believe Maxis will never make the RM68 plan fully public to all Malaysians. Maxis very well knows that they are the go-to provider (to most people's eyes) IF the price is good.

Just imagine if the RM68 was announced and made fully available to all, I'm not sure if Maxis servers and base towers can handle the sudden influx of port-in users from Celcom, U-Mobile, DiGi, etc. Because trust me, that WILL definitely happen since Maxis's brand seems to be the 'best' among telcos now in Malaysia.  brows.gif

P/S: I did not do anything special on my Celcom port-out request. I already have a line which is on First Gold 80 (Celcom). I just told the nice BlueCube staff that I want to port-in a line from Maxis to add as another principal line into my Celcom account. No questions asked.  thumbup.gif

My guess they are gathering info which package price range will be acceptable

1) for those customers who requested to port out

they offer RM68/5g or RM88/7gb - they accept or reect

2) for those who have not request to port out YET

they offer RM98/5gb or RM11/7gb - to see whether customer accept or not

In my case they did ask, why I do not want to accept RM98 for 5gb I said expensive and my current usage around RM45-RM60

So my guess they are gathering some sort of info to make sure which package will make customers return to them again, probably not all, but some

oh...i had received 2 round of sms of porting request and porting reject since i accepted the offer...
wondering do i actually need to do sth about it... biggrin.gif

anyway...talking about maxis...i believe their plan, even revised, will still be pricier than other market players....
e.g.
celcom gold unlimited/5+5GB/80, u p70 unlimited/7GB(initially)/70, dig 98 unlimited/7GB/78
Maxis i think will be unlimited/7GB/88 (given what they try to offer now)
for those who price conscious and don mind of cellular speed etc, saving of RM10-18/mth is sth...for some maxis will be a taker...
it will create some influx....but not to that extent like what celcom get i believe...
as u say...they wan paying customers...not numbers...guess they still try to find a  nice point for their adjusted plan...
*
my guess as well, but if they manage to get some customers to port back I believe they will be satisfied and I my guess most cust will if they revise to RM68 for 5gb and RM88 for 7gb since most hardcore cust still feel that maxis network is superior than others

I did request today to port in to Celcom and received their counter offer for MO 5GB for rm68

and I accepted their offer... 😝

You are 1 of the many samples maxis made so far

customers seem to accept RM68 for 5gb (and RM88 for 7gb). The GB probably less, but still unlimited calls/sms and cheaper by RM12.70 (inc GST).

Unless customer still rejecting such offer than maxis might need to offer more. but at this point that seems like good enough.

But do you get free spotify with 5gb RM68? And is it going to be permanent offer or just 2 years? If it is permanent then it is trying to confirm something here

Let us know the outcome bro. My penalty is 1200 but I'm thinking of cutting my losses and walking. I'm paying 128 for 3GB and people are paying close to half of that and getting 5GB. I've lambasted them but they gave me a standard cut and paste answer - I'm not their "selected" customer.
*
Enough with their lame answers. During my time in 2 years contract I remember they revised their package after 6 months I am with them. Which I was getting more data (1.5gb from initial 500mb) with the same monthly commitment.

So if they revise, cross you fingers (those who are in contract) that the new revised package will effect you guys as well. icon_rolleyes.gif

Otherwise you can report this to FOMCA or any responsible parties

Maxis offer the counter plan recently. The offer I notice is RM70++ include unlimited call and sms, 5GB/7GB data.

I quit maxis last year Dec. They counter offer me with Samsung phones. They always do such thing. I transferred to UMobile. UMobile offer me 8GB for the time I sign up, after that constant 7GB, recently offered me 15GB Per month until June with same price and unlimited calls. Celcom 15GB is an on off plan. They got quota on certain day and time.

Hi guys,

i just got this SMS from Maxis,

"MaxisRewards : Congratulation, you are selected for our special plan upgrade. Add RM30 and enjoy 7gb with unlimited calls and sms. Just reply YES to subscribe. Thank you for choosing Maxis."

What does it mean? I'm currently subscribing to Surfmore-75.

I am only using surfmore50, unless they can offer me something like this then I'll stick

RM50 for
5gb data
500 minutes call to any network
500 sms (actually 50 sms also cannot finish already)

Ohh and please remove RM3 charge for call forwarding, maxis is the only provider charging for this!!!

I was offered 7GB for RM118 3 days ago, i was on Surfmore RM75.

They say the offer is based on our current usage and and tenureship along with payment records.

For those who did not get this offer, i suggest you to enable auto-debit payment for your  account and i am sure you will get a call from them, provided you are with Maxis for over 2 years.
*
I was offered 5gb for RM98 which I declined and I have yet to request for MNP. Like I mentioned earlier that they are gathering info which is acceptable by the customer

is it RM98/118 for 5gb/7gb (non MNP customer)
or RM68/88 for 5gb / 7gb (MNP customer)

When Celcom offerred the First Basic plan at RM38 with 3GB data + 50 minutes free call + 50 free SMS last year, 3 of my family members, including me quickly grabbed it and never look back. It still is the best plan ever created by a telco.
*
I have the feeling Celcom kinda regret it..too cheap la wei!! But I have it myself!! I took new number for it. But lucky enough the number is almost the same as my maxis number with the only difference of 012 and 013

But what if RM38 is making a comeback with

3gb data + 3gb CF
3gb weekend (or probably no weekend)
300 minutes call
300 sms

Any takers?

This maybe the new plan will release.

RM 98    5GB DATA+Unlimited Call & SMS
RM128   7GB DATA+Unlimited Call & SMS
RM158   10GB DATA+Unlimited Call & SMS
RM188   15GB DATA+Unlimited Call & SMS
*
RM98 definitely not going to work. I belive my previous wishful packages are way better. Personally to me it isn't only about more data, it is also about saving RM

I am still go for

RM48 for 3gb (they can kick out the surfmore and maxisgo with this)
RM68 for 5gb (can compete with celcom gold with RM12.70 saving after GST)
RM88 for 7gb (just for those who requires more data but do not want to punch a hole / holes in their pocket)

Ooh and everything with unlimited calls and sms of course, but to kesian maxis a bit probably the RM48 with limited to 500 minutes calls/sms. i can hardly finish 10 sms with my celcom 38!!

In today's economy ppl try to cut some spending in any way they can
