Just checking I have placed my funds under GIA-i in M2U and for now it is auto credit to my account upon maturity after a month. If in my next cycle, I select auto renewal upon maturity, can I still uplift it at anytime? Just in case if I have any emergency and suddenly later cannot uplift, I'll be in trouble.

auto renewal means earn miserable board rate. My way is to continue hunt for short term promo rate.

Fed will only raise max 0.25% by June, and possibly halt from that point, aka the Fed fund rate will be 0.5% (if there is a raise on June, which is high possibility), which is still light year away from the 5%. 

In fact, 3months KLibor has soften from about 3.8x% to 3.6x%, which make FD promotion rate become "softer" across as well as compared to early in the year.

4% is enough for me, I'm easily contented.

I will just scrape together 10 k and try Bangkok Bank at 4.35% before 30 June 2016 for 12 months. Can still wait a bit to see if
other banks will give better rate instead of gifts and other mixed promos. 4% is way too low for greedy me.
