Just came back from UOB Puchong. Placed 12 months @ 4.5%pa.

Then went to OCBC to withdraw a matured FD. Took 40 minutes just to conclude an FD withdrawal. I do not understand why I have to go through Personal Banking counters, before proceeding to the normal transaction counter to collect. I blew my top when after waiting for close to half hour, someone who just came in, took a number and immediately his number was called. I went to the girl who was issuing number and asked "Why I do have to wait for a personal banker just to conduct an FD withdrawal?". Straight away she went to a guy colleague who then went to a counter to call my number. WTF service is this. I can't wait to have all my FDs matured in OCBC before withdrawing. 

Just placed deposit with uob this morning.  Sigh.. Kena force to open savings account.. Rm8 for atm card.  12 mths 4.5%.

Mind to share with us what is the difference between the eaccount and the Basic Saving Account ?

Let us know once they replied you. Whether they give u what u have asked for, the 4.5%. 

Today again received MBB's GIA-i interest, exactly 4% again !    However this is the 6th month, so looking forward to next mth for 4.5% interest.  Even later 6% !

Hi guys, beginner here. I have been saving under Maybank FD and have never take out my funds before (I let it auto renew and roll over the interests). Anyway, I want to put my FD into Hong Leong Bank for a promotion that needed fresh funds, but I have no idea how to do it.

First, I assume fresh fund is something that is not from their bank account, so I think I passed that criteria.

Second, how do I send the fresh fund over? I have no cheque book. Do I use IBG or some sort? Bank draft?

I have a OCBC FD that is maturing soon. Can I uplift the FD at a different branch from where I placed it ? Thanks.

On 1 June 2016, there is only one clearcut best FD promo deal.
Bangkok Bank, 4.35%, 12 months, minimum RM 10,000 fresh fund,
interest paid on maturity. Promo till 30 June 2016.
The only problem is that there are so few branches in Malaysia as placement is over the counter. Good thing, the Bangkok Bank HQ at Jalan Tun HS Lee is close to a large number of public transport stops for LRT, buses and free purple GOKL bus- Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Lin Ho, Medan Pasar, Tun HS Lee, Tun Perak. Even the old KL railway station and Puduraya are not too far off. Will not even think of driving there.
