Hey guys,

Saw this on M2U

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/edFlexi250316_tnc.pdf

10-12 months 5.75%?

What I don't get is the definition of Multi tiered.. can someone explain?

i.e. the interest rate changes monthly? or it means if you FD min of 10 months your entire tenure is 5.75? Too good to be true?

They give you 5.75%p a for the 10-12 month. Effective rates < 5.75%. 5.75% is marketing trick to entice people to put FD with them without reading/understanding. thumbup.gif

1) this is a campaign promo in eFD.

2) campaign tenure is full 12 months, means your fund is locked for 12 months, unless premature withdrawal.

3) multi-tiered rate means rate is different for each "band". Month 1-6, you'll get 3.40% p.a. rate. Month 7-9, you'll get 4.70% p.a. Month 10-12, you'll get 5.75% p.a.. Refer the T&Cs that you posted.

4) final effective rate is 4.31% p.a. once you completed 12 months. that means, the interest you gotten is effectively 4.31% p.a. rate against the amount of fund you put in.

5) note that the rate is p.a. (per annum) rate. 5.75% p.a. is not much for small amount of fund.

already in the t&c he/she posted. i dont need to copy-paste the whole pdf here again.

user should read thru all the webpages, T&Cs, call CS to clarify before making placement. that's his/her due diligence.

if there any better offer than 4% for 1 month?

I'm looking for short-term deposits, like max 5 months.

Some BR updates:
The gold coin is supposed to be only for those who put in RM300k or more fresh funds.

Lots of gifts from HQ Xclusive (haven't checked everything yet), they are more knowledgeable on the benefits/gifts.
There are promos like
- RM50 a month for gym at the HQ
- clinic at HQ
- paragliding at RM100 instead of RM200

hi sifu sekalian, please bear with me for a simple question. i am budak baru belajar, saving reach 20k (celebrate smile.gif) so i was thinking to put 10k in FD but at the same time want to make sure i understand the premature withdraw correctly.

so i was looking at the MBB eFD (http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/edFlexi250316_tnc.pdf)

in table2 scenario where it says premature Withdrawal, the last column (*Interest Payable & Penalty Calculation) means if i need to withdraw the 10K out for emergency, the value in the table is the prorated interest i gain? or penalty $ i need to pay for withdrawing before FD mature?
