I'm pretty sure the torque won't be high enough to damage your tyres as the increase will be modest. The max torque will probably be almost the same but should get more torque at low rpm. But it will be good if we can get a stock vs. remapped torque/hp curve.

Here is one example of a remapped Mazda 3 from a U.S. tuner. Not much difference in max torque (red dotted line v. green dotted line) but you can see that it has been boosted at low rpm. If can get something like this I'll be happy.

wow.. too bad the local one didnt provide any dyno results for b4 and after tuned.. if local malaysia tuner can get similar result like this, i will go for it for sure! so much of torque gained in low end rpm almost 40nm! tats impressive!

For those who got this car last year (eg. GL), may I know what was the pricings again?
I see from carlist for those with year 2015, it was around 96k. I read before that Mazda didn't increase the price this year (unlike Toyota and Honda) but why the current price is now 109k?  hmm.gif
*
yup price was 109k.. no change b4.. maybe the price is after rebates + not on the road.. u knw they always put lowest possible price to attract buyer to pm them hehe

i'm going for CannyCool tint http://www.cannycool.com.my/Products.html once i get my car this weekend biggrin.gif
96k is not on the road, on the road should be 109k

if you use carlist make sure you sort the price from highest to lowest to see the accurate pricing

The CannyCool website doesn't mention TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection) which is the most important spec. UVR and IRR are useless as there is no standard so manufacturers can base on a narrow band or just a single wavelength to give impressive figures.

Better go for the established brands, IMO.

yes exactly, high IRR doesnt mean its good, we have to look at the TSER and also the time to disperse heat.. IMO pls go for renown brand.. or u can try the new tint from IRISPRO which is kinda good, on par or even better than 3m and VKOOL as i has 100% UV protection where others dont

Nice numbers at lower end indeed, but how the overall fuel consumption will still be a question mark until the owner of the tuned car come back to us after the 2nd petrol fill.

I think you can opt for that if you pay extra for dyno. I have the dyno example for AE tuned, but it's in my computer back home. Will post it later.

For those experiencing throttle lag or lack of power, I would advise you to change to Shell 97 or BHP 97. I have almost 30,000km on this car and I can tell you this car is quite picky on the type of fuel you feed it. I am now permanently on Shell 97 and lag for me is minimal, and on colder days(at night) zero lag, press throttle car straight away fly.

Don't bother with the other 97s aside from these two brands, I have tested them multiple tanks over many refuels. If you have to go 95, only BHP 95 is decent. So if your engine is roaring loud but no power, it's most likely your fuel. Crap fuel pulls timing from your engine making it drive like a lorry. If you have the budget I highly recommend going 97 for this car.

Petron 97 for me was so-so. Fuel saving better then Shell 97 but power is not there.

Don't take my word for it, go try yourself thumbup.gif . Wait till your tank almost empty(1 or 2 bar) before putting in different fuel.

You have to look into overall bro. It's best if you check your MZD fuel consumption data analyze. Look at the picture which I've took. The avg FC is hard for you to judge.

Basically, you need to know how you want to control your speed on the highway. Well, basically in city, you can hardly control due to the jam. Your speed have to be constant in order m3 system to show you the accurate display. If you 10 mins step 90 kph then the next 110 kph, then next 50kph, and so on, how can m3 system show you an accurate display, if you get what i mean. It's best if you observe the current FC instead of the average. For my guess, m3 system will take 90kph + 110 kph + 50kph + so on / the time running = average FC.
So far, if at constant speed, yes, i find it 80% accurate. The other 20% base on approximity / roughly (example, m3 shows 780km and u can roughly estimate 750km @ 90kph.)

Here are the pictures of the km I've been travelling from Damansara to Penang with just 1 fuel tank.

Above is the full tank before i travel to Penang. Notice that is already running 24.1km.

Above is the M3 system on economy Fuel consumption menu. Driving on 90 kph @ 4.6 ltr/ 100km

Above is the total km which i m about to refill
user posted image
Above refilled. The km updated shows 797km which I'm able to drive at 110kph constantly.
user posted image
Above is the price I've pump. 34.41 liter @ RM67.10 - RM1.95 per liter
Note that M3 is a 51 liter car. That gives me remaining of 16.59 liter.
Hope this give an overall that m3 is a fuel saving car depends on the speed you are going. Above is 90kph and 110kph day trip.

Well, enjoy your ride with M3 guys. =)

This is from V7 post. =) Cheers!

I use Caltex most of the time but only for convenience sake. Because there's a station near where I stay. Personally I don't feel much difference. This kind of debate will get all sorts of answers. It's damn hard to test because of varying traffic conditions / route / driving style.

Don't think there's a right or wrong answer, just try every one out and choose which you like.

From few friends comment, they say caltex no good. No power to accelerate. Consume more petrol if u want to accelerate.

Best review so far is BHP, second to Petron. Heard Shell and Petronas fuel is the worse. Yet again, Petronas improve their fuel performance. Perhaps more additive.

I'm currently using Shell Ron 95 or 97. Thinking to switch to Petronas or BHP. BHP have limited petrol station in East Coast. Hesitating. Perhaps switch to Petronas.
