I'm thinking of buying soundbar, but I'm looking for just an all in 1 soundbar instead of having additional subwoofer and satellite speakers and stuffs. My gaming room is just a small room, from TV to door in a straight line about 11ft.

Few I'm eye-ing as below

1) Sony HT A7000 - my ideal soundbar but kinda out of my budget as it's rm4k+++

2) sonos arc - kinda cool too but also out of my budget

3) LG S90QY - slightly exceed my budget, about rm2k+++, it has a subwoofer seperate, but still acceptable.

4) Samsung HW Q800C - same concern as LG S90QY, but not sure which is better

5) LG SN11R - although it's an older model, buy from online about rm5k+++ but manage to find rm2k+++ for relatively new 2nd hand. I believe it's a very good ideal but it comes with separate subwoofer and 2 satellite speaker, which not within my expectation.

My budget is about rm2k. Would appreciate if anyone could input above models or recommend other brand/ model, would prefer soundbar only within my budget if possible, or slightly above few hundred is acceptable.

You want active bookshelf speakers or passive ones? Passive ones will need a separate amplifier and maybe a DAC and streamer depending on your source. Do you plan to use it for your TV only?

Thanks for reply. Only for the TV. I prefer active bookshelf with subwoofer instead passive.

it is possible to setup a decent 5.1 home theater setup for 4k budget.
including avr.

doing some quick research q990d seems like a good deal. 11 plus small speakers.

4k-ish 5.1 setup vs q990d/f. can fight anot.

now using 2 pairs of active speakers 4.0 setup. both swans.
my htpc, does not allow both dedicated sub or center to work at the same time.
its a realtek virtual surround thing. but seems to work while playing surround content.

now planning 2 upgrade something better. got pipu recommend i all in on a receiver. later slowly buy speakers.

my price references mostly from shopee choy store. no audio retailer in my area.

small room. maybe 3m x 5m. source volume 30-40%. speakers 50%

Its possible, but need to go for used AV Amp, and used speakers. If not, import small size speakers from China. Spend more on front 3 speakers (LFC), the rest can be of lower quality.

Pre-covid time possible.
Now you need to up that budget to around RM6k++ or so.

Yes, I always have been advocating on starting with 1 pair of bookshelf speakers first for those with a small budget. Build up your system over time instead of one shot all-in.

No idea how they would sound.

But the bigger issue is that they've been kept in the dust for so long, humidity has already damaged the cone and rubber surrounds. So don't be surprised if the drivers start cracking and you hear distortion as things start breaking apart as soon as you play some sound through them.

Guys —
I upgraded my amp to v6a about a year ago and now want to replace my LCR. Current mains are Yamaha NS series. Looking at Klipsch RP-8000F II (L/R) and Klipsch RP-504C (centre). Any experience with this combo? Will the RP-8000F II pair well with the v6a for movies/music (sensitivity/tonality)? Any suggestions for better LCR alternatives in similar price/feel?
Cheers.

no experience with the combo but into Klipsch likely will get brighter treble with its horn tweeter but not sure with NS series u r using assuming that its NS-200.. that is a 3 way speaker compare to klipsch 2 way speaker.
might lose some frequency seperation advantage that you got from NS

in general your v6a should be able to drive klipsch. You may expect
1) brighter treble
2) bassier low
3) louder at the same vol point

Speaker and receiver pairing is a myth.

The only thing speakers pair with is your room dimensions and shape. If you like bright, energetic speakers, Klipsch RP series aren't bad choices.

My AV Receiver is Sony STRDA-3500ES and is paired with first gen Acoustic Energy AE120 floorstanders, AE107c centre speaker and Wharfedale active sub with Astro decoder and Smart LED TV as sources. The floorstanders are tri-wired and the rear speaker outputs of my AV Receiver are set to handle the low frequencies of the floorstanders.

My Sony receiver sometime will switch off automatically and cannot be controlled via the remote control. Hope to hear opinions here whether, I should look for repair for my AV receiver or upgrade to used AV Amplifier like Denon X3000. Budget is RM1,000. Or should I save more money to buy Yamaha RXV-385 I see on Lazada about RM1,6xx

Looks like your AVR is switching itself into protection mode? What was the pattern like long time loud playing (units get hot) and get off by itself or upon start then it turn off automatically?

would you be able to share what do you mean by floorstanders are tri-wired ?

AV Receiver gets off by itself but not that frequently, we hardly driven it hard / too loud

The AE120s are tri-wire speaker. For my setup the speaker A terminals (for front left and right speakers) outputs are powering tweeter and mid (using bi-wire cables) while the rear speakers output from the AV Receiver are reassigned for bi-amping front speakers, and are powering the low frequencies terminal of the AE120

These sample photos are taken from the web. For my setup, the bridges are taken off
