hi all,
my notebook idle temperature is pretty weird la.. see this pics: SENSORVIEW EVEREST SPEEDFAN i don't know what the value if i'm playing games. and now i just bought notebook cooler, NotePal (R9-NBC-ADAS) but there're not much difference, idle is only about 64*c-65*c... |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 10 2007, 11:38 PM) hi all, Answer this two question:my notebook idle temperature is pretty weird la.. see this pics: SENSORVIEW EVEREST SPEEDFAN i don't know what the value if i'm playing games. and now i just bought notebook cooler, NotePal (R9-NBC-ADAS) but there're not much difference, idle is only about 64*c-65*c... 1) What's the age of your notebook? 2) How often & how long do you use your notebook in one day? I have an assumption on why does that happens, but, i need you to answer those two question above first. |

my laptop age is about 1 year 3 month i think. ASUS A6R.
on average my lappy runs about 18 hrs per day. before i used that sensor software, i didn't notice any performance drop or system freeze. everything is fine i think. as usual, when i'm playing games the system going hot but after 5-7 minutes i finished playing games, it returns to normal. no BSOD or else. is my sensor reporting incorrect value? but, i tried several software and the value is almost same. |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 11 2007, 12:02 AM) my laptop age is about 1 year 3 month i think. ASUS A6R. Okay, i know why this thing happens just after i see you're saying that your notebook "runs about 18hrs a day"on average my lappy runs about 18 hrs per day. before i used that sensor software, i didn't notice any performance drop or system freeze. everything is fine i think. as usual, when i'm playing games the system going hot but after 5-7 minutes i finished playing games, it returns to normal. no BSOD or else. is my sensor reporting incorrect value? but, i tried several software and the value is almost same. My assumptions, Easy: Your notebook processor heatsink is already full of dust. I've seen many notebooks that face this kind of trouble. And all of them has the same problem: Heatsink A.K.A. processor cooling fan is already full of dust, and your heatsink @ processor cooler is choking with some fresh air. thanks sHawTY, i've once opened the cpu cover at the back of the laptop cover. and i've examined the fans and the copper, the cpu fan is not too dusty, maybe there're not enough fresh air going into the fan (i think)..and i'm afraid to void the warranty because there're some sticker covering the fan's screw. but, i agree and respect with your opinion.

Hard?laptop fans is more hard to compared to desktop... I can do that in just 30 minutes. Seriously, your heatsink is full of dust. It's up to you to trust me or not. You can only see clearly either the heatsink is full of dust or not if you open the whole notebook casing. I've repaired hunderds of notebook before. And 50% of them are facing the same problem as yours. What i do is: 1) Open the whole notebook casing 2) Take out the heatsink & clean it thoroughly 3) Clean the old thermal paste 4) Put a new layer of Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste 5) Put everything back to where it was 6) Inspect the new temperature details And after doing that, their notebook runs even smoother than ever. FYI, only 1% of those notebook i've repaired used thermal paste. The other 99%, just use a chapalang black thermal pad that is not really good in conducting hot temperatures from the processor's die to the heatsink. i'm using a lappy cooler right now, Cooler Master R9-NBC-ADAS. at time i'm writing this post, the temperature is 71*c, but when i touch the cpu, it's not that too hot, it's warm as i can put my face on it (maybe around 30*C-45*C). maybe the air condition/ventilation in my room is quiet hot, or i'm suspecting the sensor device reporting an incorrect value (just to ease my heart) to sHawTY: please do this via pm This post has been edited by DaRkSyThE: Mar 11 2007, 11:14 AM |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 11 2007, 12:31 AM) to sHawTY: Yes, i am living in shah alam area. are you living in shah alam area? i want u to make a major operation with my lappy. err.. how much that cost? using artic silver? great! How long does asus gives warranty to their notebooks? 2 years international warranty TTDI Jaya [Near Stadium & Politeknik Shah Alam] However, i don't advice you to ask me to open your notebook as your notebook still has 2 year of warranty. Yes, for notebooks i only use Arctic Silver 5 as all notebooks only uses small heatsink, thus, it need a powerful thermal conductor between the heatsink and the processor's die @ core. I only use "chapalang" thermal paste on desktop pc's. If it's only 1 year, i could do that. But still, if you insist, i gladly accept it. aiks. please do this via pm This post has been edited by DaRkSyThE: Mar 11 2007, 11:14 AM |

Just want to do short research of the chip set temperature for Gigabyte 965 Series mobo ... State the mobo, cooler, idle and load temperature.
Mine: Gigabyte DS3, Thermalright HR-05, Idle: 48c, Load: 52c i feel like it's a bit hot but not sure whether it is true or not ... so need feedback from various forumer here.... |

Doom, youre idle temperature is very high dude.
This is mine under priming for nearly 19hours: [In normal room, non airconditioned] Your HR-05 should have work better than my stupid dq6 that is full with those ugly heatpipe. And yes, the system is in the G7 casing. There might be something wrong with your setup, or maybe the airflow is not properly flown, or maybe you didn't fit your HR-05 on the 965 chipset well. |

i have mounted the HR-05 for few times with AS5 but the temperature just never different so i took the risk to touch the heat sink with bear hand and it is really hot ...
further more the the top side of the card really release quiet amount of heat ... anyway what do u think my case configuration can be done .. i was having 4 exhausts for the top, side, rear and PSU ..one for intake from bottom... i also tried ... 3 exhaust for top, rear and PSU .. two intake through side and front bu the temperature rises 3 degrees for all ... i also tried 2 exhaust from rear and PSU .. two intake from top and front .. however it causes the rise of CPU while no different for chip set.. that's why thought of getting PC-G7 for testing if possible ... |
