I've been getting comments from riders that alot of Uber drivers call the riders upfront and ask where they're going..and if they don't go there (still within KL & Klang Valley) they insist the rider cancel the ride

Yesterday was my first time starting Uber. 1st drive is really nervous because you be fetching some stranger 

But then the struggling part is these 2 hours 15 minutes i can only earn this much and these 4 trips are all short distance. The hassle part is picking up the passengers some more which drag the total driving spent is 2 hours 15 minutes but the total of these 4 trips is only like 1 hour. the extra 1 hour 15 minutes is spent driving to pickup passengers

Looking at this i guess i really need to reflect how to improve my earnings. 

I doing this only on Sat and Sunday so i wont be aiming for incentives

Uber demand is pretty low for the last few weeks(after raya), 2 trips per hour is a norm now...

Anyway just some suggestions:-
1. Area - which area you driving at? popular uber area like mont kiara or PJ would get you nearer matches.
I driving around PJ area

2. Time - don't drive when there is no boost/surge
Since i new i wanna drive when there is lesser cars on the road as i still not familliar with whole PJ surroundings.when i get used to it mayb i will drive during surge hours

3. Grab - if your driving area/time really can't fit the boost schedule. perhaps you might want to consider to drive grab instead, as these hours on Sunday are HP/MP blocks, the same number of trips would get you at least RM58 nett. Best option is to get 2 phones and drive for both grab ambassador and uber.
I do Uber first because at least its not that complicated like Grab where you need to memorize the toll that you passed and billed on customers. Understand is easy but driving and remembering the toll amount sometimes can be quite annoying

My car is more than 5 yrs. Plan to buy new car to drive uber on weekend.

What car would u suggest ? Sorry la newbie surely ask alot.

IMO, nothing wrong actually with calling riders to ask for destination.
Uber should not hide the destination in the first place, it's our car and we should decide if we go east/west/etc.

Some pickup location is more than 7 km, and if you don't ask - u might end up in some kampung doing a 1-2 km trip.
And then you have to drive out more than 7 km into civilization.

Bro, Uber is like this, sometimes you lose and sometimes you win, try to drive within boost area (which only will be activated after you complete certain amount of trips), during raining time (surge will appear), and make sure your location is good (eg KL Central, TBS, MK, KLCC, etc).

Just remember the golden rule :-
1) Drive fast - pick up customer
2) Drive slow - no ping yet
3) Drive normal - when rider in car

There's nothing much of a formula for Uber, you need to put effort and feel the journey in order to understand more. You have to treat your first month in Uber career as a novice stage, then you will be amateur > normal > experienced Uber driver.

For weekend, once you have a certain amounts of rides in your new account, you will have "Cash King" quest during the weekend, which is very doable if you really put in some efforts .
