Hi, if I plan to do Uber...i'm getting a used car.

atm, i have no loan commitment. previously I made 6k personal loan but paid all last year.

current salary..Rm1.8K:
- balance after spending about 800 to 1K.

car: ford fiesta or honda jazz:
- wife have axia, but she live far away. if she live with me i can use her car instead
- year 2014 or 2015
- i'm more inclined toward jazz due to sparepart availability. jap cars always easier to find spareparts than an european car
- i lead very simple life..basically home & work only
- prefer non-hybrid
- my place near honda sc. ford not sure got or not. bangi/kajang/puchong

uber-ing plan:
- after work. 5pm to 8.00pm. rest 1 hour. continue 9pm until 1-2am
- weekends morning start until night
- target rm500/week after uber commission..per month is rm2K
- 40% will put into car maintainence, including car loan and petrol. probably will have leftover which will be put into saving
- 60% will be kept for purchasing property
what's your say? buy jazz/fiesta?

or i better of purchasing below 100k house and use wife car instead?

What is Uber criteria for selecting chosen drivers for their 20 trips = rm300 incentive?

Why need the double standard? just offer only to all drivers. I don't understand this marketing strategy.

Just trying out today, 4 hours 6 trips. Worst was 4 gigantors with luggage. Gosh! 

this is my 1st week became uber drivers (parttime).
doing at night(9pm-12am) on weekday and  day(10-2pm) on weekend

total time online : 14hr 56min
total distance cover: 534km ( include non-trip/trip KM as per online my car mileage)
total cost of maintenance : RM 32.04 ( engine oil, gear oil, tire etc, calculate as per RM / KM cost)
total fuel cost : RM 101.46 ( my car mostly doing 11km/l and this is based on fuel rm2.30 /L on 534KM)

total uber fare : rm 251.45
total uber fee : rm 62.86 ( uber 25% commision)
total adjustments/tolls : rm 9.96
total earn : rm 198.55

total profit : rm65.06 ( Earn - maintenance and fuel costs)

i would say, mostly im doing charity ride.     
just rm 65 profit for 14hr just damm sad.

im driving at non boost area mostly, im at shah alam.

so for me yesterday after 0.99 promo, what i got was:-
1hr 45min online
fare is 27.61
uber fee is rm6.91
estimated payout is rm20.7 nett
without taking consideration of fuel and all
3 completed trips, 2 destination trips, destination trip roughly is 14.03km not inclusive picking up driving distance, seems destination trips is not worth with this promo.

once reached pick up destination given, it was residential area
contacted rider to find put specific pick up point, and found that he was waiting at a mall 
the best part was he threw temper to me 
i was thinking must be the rider mixed up of the input pick-up and drop off location rather than uber system problem..

I tried booked a ride for tmr morning and under my upcoming trips not showing driver assigned? Anyone can tell how this works?

Uber schedule trip works this way. Upon near to your selected time, then only Uber will send out the request to nearby driver, then only you will know your driver. Actually is no different than doing it requesting like normal at that time.

If you really want a schedule ride, try Grab. and select the hitch option. If your destination is KLIA, many drivers will take. You will know the driver and able to communicate with the driver before hand once the driver accepted your trip request. And the fare is only RM46-48 and you dont have to pay the toll for hitch ride.

now KLIA trips macam tahi only the incentive. Last time the fare was RM90 per trip, than was reduced to RM75, than it became RM65+8=RM73 and now RM65+4=RM69.

What the fuck is RM4? from RM90 down to RM69 = driver lost of 21.

Jadi, prosedur baru E-hailing, driver baru perlu lulus Saringan Latarbelakang (Background Check) terlebih dahulu sebelum akaun diaktifkan. Tiada lagi pengaktifan segera seperti sebelum2 ini. Driver baru akan menerima SMS Activation dalam masa 48 jam (jika lulus).
Selain itu, buat driver sedia ada, SILA kEKALKAN rating anda pada tahap 4.5 dan ke atas. Bagi rating 4.00 - 4.49 akan di wait listed manakala rating 0.00 - 3.99 akan di reject serta merta.

i take high surges too but usually they willing to pay... unless those high surge where every where is jam up and u take a longer time to reach and they don't understand why.

are u driving a small car? i heard those with Viva or Axia gets lower ratings.

Yep. I also have it but it's almost impossible to achieve even the half trips in Klang Valley. 5pm - 6pm is confirm gone for 1 trip that usually take 40+mins for me. Left 3 hours to make 11 trips? A bit hard.

Hence I also lazy to try. Just aim for the weekend incentive.
