Hello gentlemen
Does anyone have a good TV installer they can recommend? I'm moving to my new place soon and will need someone who can install my LG GX on the wall (currently using TV stand). Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(wira1979 @ May 24 2022, 10:45 AM) I think most electrical shop can do. I bought my old Samsung 65" TV from One Living. After 3 years ask them do hang on wall and they quoted RM300. Labor + Bracket. All the way from Puchong to Kepong. If TV too big quite dangerous to DIY. I have drill and hang everything in my house by TV I dare not. Too big and no one to help. I think is plywood lamented with an acrylic sheet.Previous TV is flex arm. I change it to fix arm. Cause the arm is flimsy, behind deep too width and the weight of TV weight the arm angle down a bit. Drywall require snap toggle bolt and 6 screw if possible. More screw equal share the weight. |

Most drywalls are only 10mm thick, so unless you specifically request for higher quality gypsum boards (which ranges from 12.5mm to 15mm, higher density), the typical plasterboard drywall cannot withstand the weight of the TV.And btw no one hangs TV on a drywall. You drill the bracket into the wall studs (usually 2x2 or 4x4 in size), THEN you hang the TV on the bracket. dkcheong1127 and Kahlamx liked this post

Agree and this is my main concern. Currently building a dry wall at my TV mounting place but was wondering how to 'bridge' the gap/space between the dry wall and actual solid wall. Mounting a 65" TV solely on the dry wall is something I don't want to risk. And btw no one hangs TV on a drywall. Mounting a 65" TV solely on the dry wall is something I don't want to risk. Yup.I learnt this during the construction of my HT room. First layer of walls are bricks, but then I further insulated the room for soundproofing purposes by building another room within the room. So the inner walls are high density gypsum boards (15mm), dual layered (in between, they are glued together with green glue noiseproof caulk) so it's a total of 30mm which is over an inch thick nailed into 4x4 studs. This is then strong enough to hold the weight of my height mounted speakers as well as a 77" C9. At first the contractor was just planning to use the typical plasterboard, lucky I triple checked his materials before telling to go ahead. QUOTE(wira1979 @ May 24 2022, 04:09 PM) Usually is wood because it's cheapest, fail proof (mostly) and easiest to install. If you got money, of course you can go for cast iron frames which will last forever. wira1979 liked this post

QUOTE(maxstrife @ May 23 2022, 03:43 PM) It has actually already arrived in the warehouse , waiting for approval for the full lineup . There is going to be slight delay this year because these 55 " and 65 " models are moving slower than previous years since the 48 "has completely stolen their thunders .
