In your opinion, worth it to wait for C9 or just go for C8?

Depends how much you value HDMI 2.1 and the lower input lag.

If you're just going to watch movies and don't care about gaming, the C8 right now is a no brainer choice since it's constantly going on clearance sales.

There will be some 8k movies starting next year but most 8k content will probably be limited to documentaries and features. By the time 8k becomes as mainstream as 4k, it'll be at least 2024 IMO. By then top emission OLEDs and perhaps MicroLED (at sane prices) should be fairly common.

Guys, wanted a quick check. My remote suddenly is unable to show the magic mouse, and the rest of the buttons cannot work. Except for the on-off button.
Battery all new and good. Anyone has a solution for this?

A friend of mine from HLK has already received several 2019 models but they are not going to sell them yet .
Probably going to wait on stocks so they can jack up the price , typical .

On the bright side , I heard the C9 will be available in 77" this year for the first time in MY .

Meh jacking up the price is pointless. Every year since the 6 series the price drops massively by October. Who gives a fuck?

Good thing is they have finally fixed the 4K HDR input latency in the latest patch , the near black macro-blocking problems have also been internally patched on C9 .

The only minor QQ is no VRR support over the PC yet , other than that things are looking really good for the 2019 OLEDs.

There are talks that Freesync can be enabled via firmware down the line for the LG 9 series OLEDs. Fingers crossed.

Hi, planning to get a C8. Should i buy it now or wait for C9 to come then buy the C8?
Will the C8 price drop after the launch of C9?

The current price is already so low it almost makes getting a B8 not worth it , the C8 in MY are some of the lowest priced OLEDs on Earth .
I really don't think it will drop much lower than that .

The B8 is always lagging behind when it comes to updates , where the engineers have always been focusing on the C , E , W lines instead.

But the OLED panels general price will continue to drop , as LG fully ramping up its 10.5g fab production.

Between C9 and C8 , the difference in picture quality is minimal .
Of course , the C9 is more future proof since it is fully equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports .
This is especially beneficial to the gamers thanks to the further improved Input lag from Auto Low Latency Mode , where you can switch to any viewing mode and maintain the low input latency .

Exactly what I was talking about earlier , jacking the price up lol .

C9 is good but not RM3200 better than C8 .

The free 4K IPS Smart TV of LG has very little resell value , since their IPS TVs are rather unpopular compare to the other brand.

If you want to get a C9 just wait a little longer . For RM9999 you can probably get a 65 " of C8 .

Thanks so much Convael. You're good smile.gif. I think so too. Future proofing doesn't really work IMHO.
IN 3-4 years, sure got a lot more advancements and price drops..

I will go with C8. Now to decide between 55" and 65".

Historically over the last 3 years, LG in Malaysia has reduced the price of the 55" and 65" OLED after 3 months, averaging around 2-3k from SRP. What you're seeing now, the so called "RM9999" promo for the 55" C9 is basically what the price would be in 3 months time. Promo my ass lol rolleyes.gif

Then come year end, you'll see it drop to around the RM8k point and perhaps even lower with the same old "free soundbar" bs.

It's an open secret that LG OLED sales in Malaysia is the highest in the region due to these practices, especially come the last quarter of the year.

If they're serious about the B9, I hope it's actually substantially cheaper than the C9 this time around. B8 and C8 last year's price difference was a complete joke, hell it wasn't uncommon to find a C8 being cheaper than a B8 even. mega_shok.gif
