Guys, wanted a quick check. My remote suddenly is unable to show the magic mouse, and the rest of the buttons cannot work. Except for the on-off button.
Battery all new and good. Anyone has a solution for this?

Download some full screen color slides, put it on the thumbdrive and then check for permanent burn-in (usually most visible with red) on the TV.

If they're serious about the B9, I hope it's actually substantially cheaper than the C9 this time around. B8 and C8 last year's price difference was a complete joke, hell it wasn't uncommon to find a C8 being cheaper than a B8 even.  mega_shok.gif

B9 is not going to be in the market until later this year , by then you should be choosing between a C9 with massive discount or free sound bars and a B9 instead .

C8 now, easy.

If you're going to wait that long for a B9, might as well buy a C9 at that time.

*EDIT* Yup, what convael said.

LG has told me , the official launch date for B9 is around August of 2019 . Considering the fact they probably have to spend time to localize the firmware , Q4 is the more realistic expectation.

I would be surprised if they are eating on their words now .

I was checking their flagship store on Lazada , B9 is yet to be found atm .
The Amazon UK and US also have them listed as " preorder " .

On the other hand , I saw desa home theatre was selling new 65" C8 for RM9800 with $200 petronas gift card .

It is assembled in Indonesia .
But the OLED panels came from Paju Korea , where the LGD Headquarter is .
Since then they have invested a lot of money onto a new 8.5g fab line in China , which is going to ramp up the current production rate by 200 %.

They also have a new 10.5g fab in Paju that is responsible for the larger sizes such as 65" and 77 " ++ Panels .
But no one outside of LGD knows when exactly it is going to be functional.

OLED TV also have to undergo basic calibration before shipping out, they are more accurate than most of the LCD out of the box . ( excluding some of those premium LCD finetuned by Sony and Samsung )

Dear Sifu,

I might have missed out couldn't find any discussion on video qualities of OLED.

I'm planning to buy one, I wonder how's the video qualities of say BT Downloaded YIFY 1080P movie for example on a LG 65 C8?

Some comments from overseas users were getting grainy pictures when playing old 1080p contents on an OLED.

We are mostly on Astro and I'm a movie buff. I stream my movies from NAS to my android tv box connected to the TV via HDMI.

What's the best deal for 65 B8 B9 C9?

THANKS GUYS

1) YIFY quality is as good as puke, mixed with mud, trash and then vomitted back out again by a zombie. If you're a movie buff, at least make an effort to get higher quality rips. Oh and btw, piracy discussion aren't allowed here.

2) The upscaling quality on my OLED C7 unit is not bad, a bit of ringing around the edges on some old content but generally it's quite good. IMO it's definitely good enough for most people. However, I use a HTPC and utilize MadVR upscaling using NGU, so upscaling on TVs doesn't really matter to me as NGU pretty much exceeds anything on the market as long as it's paired with a powerful enough GPU.

3)1080p content (I remux my own blu-rays, not YIFY quality bullshit) actually looks better on the OLED than being played on a native 1080p native display itself - which is in comparison to my old Sony W900a (arguably the best 1080p LCD LED TV, almost as good as Pioneer Kuro plasmas).

4) The best deals for C9 and C8 are literally just posted a few post above you. Like... really, you just need to scroll up once. sweat.gif

FYI, there was a flash sale at selected Sony outlets(klcc,curve,mv,ioi...etc) over the weekend. 65in A8f was going for rm8k, limited to 5 units.
Anyone interested can try giving the stores a call if they still have the promo stock leftover. Excellent value over the C8.

Thanks for all the advice. I bought the 65 C8 for 9800. Harvey Norman now does price matches. I also got the Yamaha yas 207.

I must say it’s awesome. Netflix, ps4 pro. All is amazing! No need tuning. It works and looks great out of the box.

If anyone has questions I’ll be glad to answer.

What! I checked the MV sony store at around 1:30pm on Sat and the flash sale price was RM9.6k or thereabouts... ie around 20% from the list price of around 12k.... figured it wasn't much of a discount. For 8k I might have pulled the trigger...

Went for window shopping and happened to pass by Sony. Got myself a second unit. There’s one last unit if you’re interested. I suggest you be quick about it smile.gif
