QUOTE(sunami @ Sep 2 2022, 09:23 PM) thanks..i gotten myself a df64 for espresso shot..but now hunting one for camping use..haha not really,it all up to burr design..but for camping pour over..timemore c2 is the best bang for your bucki saw alot different brands in TB...some brands have different conical burr options...5,6,7 teeth.. the more the better? some burr design provide better grind uniformity on finer grinds.. but for pour over timemore c2 already enuff imho..got extra cash go for c2..got better taste.. btw, which burr on df64? QUOTE(ftl1337 @ Sep 6 2022, 04:03 PM) Hi guys. Am new to the espresso scene. Sorry if my question sounds stupid but where can I get a decent 51mm bottomless portafilter to fit my dedica. I prefer to buy it from a physical store if possible so that I can inspect the item before purchasing. i got mine from shopee a while back. they usually will show you how many ears for fitting dedica or not but it is one of the most common versions out there. |

The ear of my china bottomless portafilter broke off. Upon checking further, the basket rim was also bent and the puck screen was bent as well.
Took out the shower screen - seems fine. I reverted back to the ori portafilter and the brew looks ok. Heads up to you guys. My brew was leaking a little for a couple of days. I thought it was the gasket and ordered a new one. I did not check the portafilter or the basket. |

Sifu coffees, can i get your opinion please?
I used to use a simple breville all-in-one VCF117, but mainly for espresso when i was not in malaysia. i shipped my unit, alongside a delonghi coffee grinder kg89 and a nespresso aeroccino 4 back (coming in about 2months time). I wanted to focus on making a decent latte, and was thinking to upgrade the coffee unit to a more dedicated espresso maker. What's the cheapest unit i should get (that i can still salvage and use my grinder and milk frother), i considered flair but quite malas to do it manually lolx.. Budget maybe something below 1k? |

anyone has any good coffee bean recommendations/options? prefer:
- dark roast (medium-dark is ok too) - low/zero acidity - chocolate/nutty (don't prefer fruity) tried SOL coffee beans recently (el salvador and sunshine) since it's a popular suggestion in forums and shopee, but i find it has less kick/caffeine than usual, so i'm looking for better options. i understand that better beans are expensive but just checking if you guys have other recommendations with a budget <RM35 for 250g. don't understand why starbucks gets a lot of flak here, i find that their italian roast bean is quite ok |
