"With the Emirates partnership, Malaysia Airlines’ customers will have access to 38 European, 15 Americas and 38 destinations in the Middle East and Africa and Indian Ocean, whilst Emirates’ customers will have access to Malaysia Airlines’ extensive Asia Pacific network with up to 300 daily departures in the region. Sales under this codeshare agreement will commence from February 1 2016."

I don't think this regional airline focus will work. How many would be willing to transit twice(at dubai and kl) to go to their final destination in SE Asia?

Yes, you can use Krisflyer to book other Star Alliance tickets directly. Search on how to redeem miles on Star Alliance airlines for details. There are award charts to show you costs etc.

I have AUH-KUL booked in EY 332 business class for our return after the CNY week, but just found availability AUH-SIN in EY 789 business suites. Unfortunately it is one day later which means the kids will miss school for 2 whole days which also means the missus probably will veto this...

Argh!

I agree education is important, but I value informal education ie. going out and experiencing the world much more than formal education/schooling.

But flying on the Dreamliner in Etihad first/business is just luxury that the kids are getting too used to haha. Will stick with the original plan on the 332.

Very cool that they are giving out Alaska Airlines miles. Redeem on Emirates, Cathay, Qantas, Korean... I wish I had lots of those miles.

There definitely is a market for something like this in the region too. biggrin.gif

Yay LYN version of Flyertalk.

Late reporting, but here i am SPG Plat 50 fags inkambing, got matched to Hilton & Hyatt Diamond end of Nov 2015.
With so many top status in hand, but no time/low chances to enjoy them this year....owh it's just January where everything starts a bit slow sweat.gif

And just a lowly Enrich Silver sweat.gif

I think Marriott will keep SPG. The benefit for Marriott Gold is better than SPG Gold.

I wish...sounds like a pipe dream
And Marriott keep talking about synergies between the 2 programs, i'll bet SPG program will be dead sooner or later

Some people have asked me previously how to get a US based card. For those who are willing to try it out, here's a possible way doing that. Note that this is neither free nor quick. You need the following:

1. social security number or employer identification number (EIN)
2. credit history
3. a US based address that can forward to your permanent address

Once you've received your SSN or EIN, you need to apply for a basic credit card and spend for 6-12 months to establish a credit record. Ideally open a bank account so that you can pay for your cards too.

Why do you want a US based credit card? Google it up. biggrin.gif

Wow, you are so cool...you have SPG Platinum and Hilton/ Hyatt Diamond. Unfortunately I have Hilton and SPG Gold only. I am trying to get a status match with Marriott but so far no luck sad.gif

Does anyone know how to get a fast track Marriott Gold or status match to Marriott Gold?

an update for my AMOWMC ticket, consist of CX, MH, BA, IB, QR

we can actually use QR to manage the seat selection on MH (IB too), where I found out most of the nice seat has been taken up in the A380 sad.gif instead of wait til 48hrs before flight
