It shocked me that KLIA MH Golden Lounge is so big after renovated, compare to my visit 1 year ago.

Flew out on Etihad business class from KUL, sadly they are only giving out passes to Plaza Premium Lounge only, not the MH Golden Lounge. A bit disappointed but a least business passengers get a separate line and higher priority from credit card users getting in for free.

That's pretty lame.

On a separate note, many thanks for the pointers re redemption for large group/families. Just redeemed KUL-HKG-JFK return in First for myself and Business for one of my sons. Another 4J seats are available as well (same flight) but as usual, I'm short of points (why am I always just short) and waiting for MBB to update my treatpoints before conversion. Agonising wait! Hope the 4J seats remain, if not, will have to break the gang up into two flights.

Gotta give credit when it's due: Maybank was super-efficient in handling my last TP conversion. I rang last night and my Asia Miles have already appeared tonight. Flying KUL-HKG-JFK on CX. Bonus is we've got 1F +5J on the same flight for HKG-JFK both outbound and inbound.

Special thanks to tishaban for showing the way to redeem award seats for groups/families. Owe you one bro!

hi guys. happy new year.

got some question. i have 35k enrich miles expired on march 2016. i have around 150k treatpoints and 30k amex membership point. is it worth it to extend the point or i should spend in on maybe local flight or other partnes ie hotel or car rental?
i just sign up with m2premier and still waiting for the card, and planning holiday to PER this april. as i see it, i couldnt get enough point for trip to PER.

Buy PER economy ticket then upgrade one way to business class with 30k point

That will leave me with 1 happy wife at J while i stuck at economy with 3 yrs old toddler .

there is another trick,

1) first upgrade your wife ticket with your miles
2) when you reach airport, find MH ticket counter, ask for the "last min upgrade" with cash, pay cash to up.

judging from 30k miles per way upgrade, it should be about 4 hour flight journey, cash upgrade may cost RM550 to RM800 per way.

How is this last min cash upgrade different from the bidding to upgrade by MH ( done online) ? pros and cons? Also, if use 30,000 miles to upgrade, might as well spend RM550 to RM800 to upgrade with cash right? cheaper.

See what is your fare class
Mh basic, MH smart, MH flex all can do miles upgrade

Mhupgrade with money bidding doesn't care fare class, so long they have empty seat they will allow upgrade.

Then finally is last min counter upgrade, if i remember correctly, they also don't care your fare class. They just want money

Last min upgrade only can do at airport counter. always more expensive than MHupgrade online bidding.
Mhupgrade for Beijing i bidded RM 400 and won, some people bidding RM420 for Korea trip also won. But these places would need 30k miles per way upgrade.

So short distance if MH upgrade or cash upgrade at airport available, not worth to do miles upgrade.
