After hearing the devaluation of AA Miles I went on to book AUH-LHR for later this year. At 40k redemption per pax it is extremely good value. Will then cross-over to Paris and return via QR F, to DXB. Again using AA redemption.

From DXB I will be flying EK F to KL using QFF points.

Now to figure out how to get to AUH or DXB from KL. Maybe I will try SIA.

There is actually a way to redeem EY F using points you earned from Malaysian CC, but poor value. So unless if you really want to try EY F and have a huge stash of points, otherwise it doesn't make sense at all.

QR via BKK or SQ via SIN??

Mind sharing how to redeem EY F with Msian credit cards?

BKK-DOH is frequently available in F. QR F from BKK is on the 380 too. SIN-DOH is also frequently available, more so than KUL-DOH. You shouldn't have any problems getting DOH-AUH. KUL to mid east on AAdvantage is a very reasonable 30k in J or 40k in F.

Will be flying DOH-SIN in May but on Y as i got the ticket real cheap. Also have to bare with A320 for 6 hours from GVA to DOH. They only allow upgrade with Q Miles.

No, not quite.

If I calculate correctly, AUH-LHR requires 88k miles in Guest First, that means 88*56,000 = 492k MR, or RM246K spend.

The way is to use Maybank Premier Treatspoint. Requires 500k treatpoints, or roughly RM100k spend if purely on AMEX.

Just got off the phone with MBB rep. In short: has to be Amex Platinum Charge or Credit card. Treatpoints earned under Diamanté, Amex Reserve+VI combo not eligible for redemption for EY Guest Miles or EK Skywards Miles.

Back to square one for me as my Amex card just does not bring in that many miles. EY Apartments will remain a dream for me for some time yet.

Joy was short-lived: availability for AUH-LHR is there, but will cost nearly 120k miles one-way (with conversion loss). Apartments. Keen, but not THAT keen.

Did tell you that it is poor conversion.

However, are you sure it is 120k miles? I count 96,795 to be exact factoring in conversion loss.

I plugged in end of Nov and got 88k miles one way. Multiplied that by 1.35.

Anyhow, I've carved out under AMOMC SIN-BKK-DOH-CDG, LHR-SIN. First class lounges at BKK and DOH via QR F. Concorde Room at LHR on return via BA F. Itching to try the new BA F on LHR-KUL so might swap SIN with KUL. All this for 155k miles. Now that will be comparable to your AA redemptions.

You are looking at the wrong redemption chart. Should not be looking at Etihad Guest but the rewards program that you will be booking from. Just like AA, it is 40k to redeem, not 88k.

I will share in due course. Just let me find the most optimize and best redemption method.
