I tried to stream some files form my room to the 630x but the audio is stuttering using the built in app. Any idea how to improve so that it can stream more fluidly?

I'm using a dual band tplink router

what built in app u used?

there are many factors - particularly router, broadband speed/stability, file size.

try smaller and bigger files, u may see the difference.

The default media player with the tv, however when I use Plex there is no stutter, but Plex only has 2.0 stereo.

u mean using the remote play function in the media center?

that is using chromecast... poor.

plex... u mean plex installed from playstore?

plex, es file explorer, kodi, vlc... all can be used to stream from pc or some box to tv with wifi.

but... they are all good only for small files, all fail with bigger files. maybe paid versions can do the job.

the tv is a tv with a great android.... but does not have the best features for networking.

for that, u need to get at least a box.

(or some costly NAS system... there was a recent thread on this.)

a good android box's native player/networking features will be able to handle such streaming from say a pc via wifi to display on the tv.

it is actually quite simple to set up SMB or samba or sometimes called windows networking or file sharing.

i have tested my own box many times - can do 1080p, dts, even 4k videos.

es file explorer, kodi can't do at this time - whether android inside tv or android box.

Not the remote play, but the Video player. The files are in my bedroom notebook. I have to say at the time of playing, I was also downloading other movies on the notebook, will try when I have 100% bandwidth for the tv alone.

ah, this one... works not with samba but dlna, i think.

tried it:

.. does not read many types pf files/formats.
.. ok for small files, no good for bigger ones.

i think the networking feature of this tv is low level.

add on top of the read issues of the usb drives, we can expect the rest.

can't escape... a tv is a tv is a tv. it is meant to display, not to playback or network heavily.

but i do find the android good, all apps incl kodi work very well, even with wifi.

the day will come when all are integrated into one big tv.

then can forget all the boxes and antennae! laugh.gif

Found the solution. I was using a dual band router. Just switched to the 2nd band and all works now. I can stream with 5.1 audio with the default app.. yay!

take time to read the manual, explore the features.

you will find great value in the tv, incl the android inside.

no, it's not faulty.

it just hasn't been paired with the tv.

read the e-manual, there is a procedure.

can you try videos of a few sizes?

say 4, 8, 12gb?

if it works well with 12gb, then confirmed it is excellent with 5ghz.

i tried it again with kodi - works good up to 8gb or so.

larger files, fast action, it can't cope.

i'm using a single band 2.4ghz.

so, i should plan on a dual band router. tongue.gif

i am not so much into streaming from pc, etc. as i prefer to do local playback for larger files which i tend to collect and keep.

smaller files, fabulous quasar can do direct on the tv itself, don't even need a box! biggrin.gif

but it's a useful feature.

perhaps dual band gigabit will also boost overall wifi strength and coverage over say 50 ft?
