this ue630x tv is a good tv all round for its price - great picture quality, deep colors, good blacks, fine androidtv 5.1.

the only thing missing is HDR capability.

having said that:

.. there are some HDR files i tried with an android player (himedia Q10pro) that are delivered very well to the tv.

.. Dolby Vision files while can be played by the player cannot be handled by the tv - get audio only, as to be expected.

as 4k, hdr, dolby vision files are still coming out rather slowly, i don't really miss much after using the tv for 1.5 years.

i will be happy enough in 3-4 years time to get a new uhd4k hdr dolby vision tv if and when such videos are more common!

LG SH7 soundbar top end model, buy from forum garage sales, brand new can get at very low price as many users are selling them away as they come as gift from LG TV purchase promo. Just a tip smile.gif

Thanks bro for the tips.
Any nice calibration setting?
*
i do not know how to "calibrate" with any tool or what; i trust the tv makers default settings are well calibrated and tested.

basically 3 parts to find yr own liking:

1. eco mode... off, eco1, eco2.. in descending order of overall brightness.

2. for every input (hdmi1, hdmi2..)... u select std, movie, gaming, dynamic...

3. for every std, movie, etc... u can adjust the set of variables like sharpness, color, brightness... reset to default whenever u want.

after many hours, my preference emerged: eco1-std for online streaming and hypptv; eco1-movie for movie playback.

The only thing missing from ue630x is HDR, wondering when is the new sharp 4k TV with HDR coming, personally using the 58inches version and very satisfied with it.

Actually, HDR10 is simply the industry standard's title and is free for all manufacturers to use... While DV is advanced HDR tech and is Dolby's proprietary name for HDR10+++. So if one has a TV with Dolby Vision, one already has minimum HDR10. Numbers-wise, Dolby Vision is superior to and less popular at the moment than HDR10..

according to this, DV is HDR12.

Ya... 12 bit.. And to think there are devices still struggling with 8 bit.. biggrin.gif.. It's an ongoing battle between free vs proprietary tech.. While I'm impressed at DV and it's standards.. I'm also rooting for the free for all HDR tech to surpass it. Alas for now, that's a pipe dream, as everyone knows that Dolby works tightly with content producers.. Well, at least the my major/ones that really matter and so can heavily influence them to use DV instead, so they can perhaps charge royalty fees?? I guess..

Either way, the future is so much brighter.. Pun intended.. smile.gif

that's always the case with tech.

some will get popular and become mainstream, some will not and die off.

what i read, uhd4k will probably get adopted well but HDR and DV... too early to say.

at this time only Netflix is actively pushing these 2.

If u r not using netflix, no need to update.

Android5.1 inside is very stable.

But if u need netflix, u need to update to android6.

In that case, call or email for service, technician will come install manually for u.

Link to contact them posted several times in last 10 pages.
