is affin bank ok so far ah?

Looks like FD promo still can leap back to 4.5 and maintain.. not bad.

Those sucker bank offer below 4.5 really want to take the retailer as sucker.

Affin is stable. i've got a 2yr FD with them, and family put some eggs there too.

traditionally, Affin doesnt compete direct, but once a while they do offer attractive rate that's a notch above others (e.g. now). good strategy, imo.

great. first time with affin. always with pbb but the rate drops so much. so looking for new options and bumped into this thread. lifesaver!

Okay.. BSN Branch C just called me back (after the leng lui staff called to HQ) about the 5 years FD at 4.75%:

If place below RM 50K, interest will pay each 4 month
If place above RM 50K, interest will pay monthly
*Minimum placement is RM 1000

About the extra 0.25% for senior citizen, BSN Branch C said there is no such offer.
This 5% was offered few years back when it called "Sukut"..

Yes, Affin is the best so far for 1 year FD at 4.5%..
I still have existing 15 months FD there at 4.33%, the best rate at that time..
Now considering to put there for this 4.5%..

But do not know interest rate will go up or down in next 6 months..?

Affin is OK. Staff plenty, quite free.

Let us know any gift from BR for CNY.

I doubt will get any as I have reduced my fund with BR in 2015..almost 50%...but surprises are welcomed

I have also reduced >50%. They still welcome me and gave me 12 mth 4.5% nego rate recently for renewal FD.

The gift are branch related. Some branch gave out better quality and higher price gift. All depends on their budget. Anyway may go out later and see what it is. But I won't go out just to get it.

how much you need to get hampers and gifts in BR? >500K ?
got below that amount in BR, and never ever got any gifts from them 3 years already...

i saw maybank is diun promo for FD (not e-FD)

Min rm25,000 for 7-8 months FD deposit 6.88%

is it worth if i withraw my e-fd now (just renew 31st january) to put into this fd for 7months?

any opinions?

Effective rate is 4.38% for 8 months. I think is worthwhile is your amount is more than 50k
