General Investment Account-i (GIA-i) seems like giving more than 4%P.a. Last month i put 7100 test water.
if base on my calculaton interest suppose to be RM23.666,but today i check it give me RM24.05

The interest is counted by no of days in that month, for January the interest is

0.04/366*31*RM 7100 = RM 24.0546

i called to hong leong last friday. the 6months 4.5% fd promo extended till 5th feb. min fresh fund 10k

it really depends on your needs..e.g

how long do u wanna put?
the accessibility of the bank to you..far, near, ez to find parking.
when do u need the money?

if you choose 6months 4.5%, of course is better, cause means after 6months u can move the money

or it can be sui...cause the fd rate that time is not that good

so, bsn can be another option then for a longer tenure.

Just placed the Maybank 4+4 CNY promo FD 4.38%. But they told me conventional is full already. So I applied under Islamic since they told there is no difference in rates. Anyone can tell me if there is any difference between islamic FD and conventional in this case?

i was told the exactly same from Jalan P. Ramlee branch just now. did you went there also?

i guess just they don't use the funds for investment in gambling / alcohol / non halal industry.

side note: the FD cert just stated 3.28% for 2 mths and 3.38% for another 2 mths, the due date is 4 mths away.
the teller told me after 4 mths, can bring back the cert to print 3.98% & 6.88%.

if you want to lock in for 12 months and don't mind que for long time, then yes

4 months 4% not bad.. lock in for short period of time

How come forumers here stated offers end on 31/01/16

Alliance bank's promi still quite decent
