Yesterday went to Affin bank Ampang Point to open FD account for the 4.6%. Once went in feel like government department. All staff like no need to do. Goyang sini goyang sana. Get number and waited for 20min the one and only customer service officer still goyang luar and goyang dalam. After that just left and go to OCBC for their 4.5%. Things done in 20min.
Even OCBC trainee looks better than Affin permanent staff.

lmao tell me how they lose their savings due to non PIDM protected? If so, those big shots with few millions burn already in BR without PIDM protected

don't make assumption based on my statements. I might be wrong but their money won't burn because my wrong info post.

we're not perfect and sometime we could be wrong

Please read up about PIDM and how it protects the deposits

Anyone faced an issue on below, I have a fd in maybank on auto renew for past 10 years, worried now.

Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965

In accordance with the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965 (revised 1989) the money in the Fixed Deposit under Automatic Renewal shall be classified as Unclaimed Moneys if the Fixed Deposit is not operated for a period of seven (7) years from date of deposit or date of last transaction, whichever is later.

once u go to bank to update, counted already. fren, 12 years if auto renew, then sudah "habis". so your case is not auto-renew once u present cert to bank to update.

I thought maybank is supposed to send a letter to inform of pending FD dormancy at end of 7 years? I never got a letter. Anyways I have to check asap as need to use that funds.
