Haha.. cuz usually i will just take the debit card for all the bank i open acc with.. so never really go thru the no debit card process

The basic saving account in MACH is called Money Box account.. Same thing, different name.
But the good thing is, Money box account will definitely pay more interest than HLB Conventional basic saving account.

All MACH acc will start with 402
HLB will start with 001

Slightly lower than RHB's 4.4% also. Someone reported Affin having 12 mth 4.5%, still need confirmation.

without a card, you cannot register for a hl connect yourself. you have to go to a hl branch with your id and ask them to create an account for you. a mach branch cannot do that for you. please take note.

yeah, i used to do that too until i collected a huge stack of cards. haha!

I went Mach branch open account before,they insist me to take a debit card.
If I don't want debit card,they can't process it.

U just tell them u already have HL Connect access

Yeah according to the registration page on HL Connect, I need to go to HL branch to get a temporary ID to register for HL Connect.

Boss, can elaborate why Mach earn more interest compared to hlb?

i just opened a Mach moneybox account. My old ATM card was like too old, e.g. 6 years ago, so somehow it cannot be used to open Mach. So now I have a new Mach debit card, but this card cannot see my HLB CA. So I have to use both the old ATM card and the new Mach card now. It's ok for me because I am going to close my CA account soon, which is also my housing loan CA.

Another thing to note is that fresh funds thingy.....if you have funds in other HLB accounts, you can just use HLconnect to transfer to Mach money box, then create FD from there.

I just hope they extend the 4.5% promo. Need some more time for funds to come in.

2. Free 5 time IBG a month (i think is 5.. if i m not wrong)

I use sky high savings. Forgot how much, but is higher than hlb conventional saving acc.

In my opinion, both also not good.
1. Free IBG comes with condition, e.g. RM1000 balance.
2. sky high 1.8% only for RM10k above balance. Better create a junior account (if you have a junior), transfer there.
