QUOTE(lamode @ Jan 31 2016, 10:00 PM) has anyone tried to use single cheque (so consider as fresh fund) for multiple FDs? like a piece of 50k cheque, then split to 3 FDs. FD 1 15k - 3 months. FD 2 15k - 6 months. FD 3 20k - 12 months. It is doable at least from my experience with banks I encountered. But some need 20K as min for their promo FD, please be reminded.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jan 31 2016, 08:25 PM) 2) banks need money (target). If target not reach, banks extend deadline. QUOTE(intrepidity85 @ Jan 31 2016, 08:26 PM) based on point no.2 - it's hearsay It is not hearday. The stat or data has showed some banks loan to deposit ratio has gone beyond 90%, which is rare in a normal circumstances or based on last 10 years of history.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Feb 1 2016, 12:09 AM) Keep in mind that by splitting the banker's cheque, some banks will charge you 3x instead of just 1x (I am assuming you are going to take banker's cheque) i think he wants to separate a single BC to multiple FD certs here

FD 2 15k - 6 months. FD 3 20k - 12 months. Of course you can. This will be done by the bank you are putting your FD in. Don't split the banker cheque into 3 or you will end up paying for 3 banker cheques.

QUOTE(intrepidity85 @ Jan 31 2016, 06:48 PM) lol.. nowadays looks like not many ppl keen to put on FD liao .. cause of bad depreciation RM else the bank won't extend the deadline? People are still keen to put fd. Issue is whenever banks have promotional rates. people rush to transfer over their fds from other banks. So their quotas fills up very quickly. That's what the HL Mach officer told me.
