When I opened FD and SA at RHB, I was informed by bank teller that if I close the SA within 1 year, a penalty fee will be imposed.
Do all other banks stipulate this condition regarding closure of SA?

Hi all,
Noob question here. What's the difference between a bank draft and a banker cheque? A friend said HLB staff told her bank draft fee is about RM2 whereas fee for banker cheque is RM6.

it is not compulsory. having a debit card is helpful when you want to create a hl connect account, but if you go to hl connect, there is a 3rd option listed in the registration page, ie for those without credit/debit card.

some staffs on the ground might make it compulsory when they have sales target to meet.

Thanks so much for the info. HL staff insisted I need to get a debit card to register for HL connect. I'll print screen that registration page from HL connect to show them.

without a card, you cannot register for a hl connect yourself. you have to go to a hl branch with your id and ask them to create an account for you. a mach branch cannot do that for you. please take note.
*
Yeah according to the registration page on HL Connect, I need to go to HL branch to get a temporary ID to register for HL Connect.

Hi, I just made a one month E Islamic FD placement at Maybank2u.com. In the receipt it's stated:
Principal RM10000
Term: 1 month
Profit rate 3.25%
Profit earned RM25.75
Selling price RM10025.75

Anyone knows how the interest is calculated?

Does maybank insist on cheques for fresh fund?

Can I just ibg in?

I've been placing rhb, and they are ok with 2-3 days old ibg funds.

Maybank accepts IBG done a week before as fresh funds. I've done it several times.

Anyone faced an issue on below, I have a fd in maybank on auto renew for past 10 years, worried now.

Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965

In accordance with the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965 (revised 1989) the money in the Fixed Deposit under Automatic Renewal shall be classified as Unclaimed Moneys if the Fixed Deposit is not operated for a period of seven (7) years from date of deposit or date of last transaction, whichever is later.

I had one FD in Maybank auto renewed for 12 years. Just uplifted a couple of months ago. No issue.

u are lucky! years ago i had sa in mbb, closed as inactive and fund sent to bnm! cry.gif let go of it as<rm90. not worth effort to claim.

My mom did go to the bank to update the FD cert a few times. Not sure if that counted as transactions. I didn't even realise it had been there for 12 years until the bank officer told me so when I uplifted it. shocking.gif

once u go to bank to update, counted already. fren, 12 years if auto renew, then sudah "habis". so your case is not auto-renew once u present cert to bank to update.
*
Oh I see, then I have to thank my mom wub.gif
Coz I thought if set auto renewal when placing FDs mean I don't have to go update it. Luckily my mom is the type who wants to update everything rclxms.gif

better to get fd cert to bank to update regularly if on auto renew (at least say every 5years or 2/3 yrs)
*
Yeah better do so. Thanks for the advice notworthy.gif
Now I learn from all the sifus here, it's best to uplift upon maturity to get promotional rates thumbup.gif
