Hi, I am going to Kyoto & Tokyo with my wife this coming Nov. I did some research, read through this thread. Any suggestion to my planning?

Day 1 : Reach Tokyo Narita 8:25am, we will take shinkansen all the way to Kyoto.
Day 2-7 : Will be staying in Kyoto. 1 day trip to Nara, 1 day trip to Osaka, 3 days at Kyoto
Day 7: Morning left Kyoto take shinkansen to Hakone stay there 1 night
Day 8: Afternoon left Hakone take shinkansen to Tokyo.
Day 13: Take flight and come back home.

1) I was thinking if 1 day in Hakone enough or I should make it 2 night. Reduce 1 night from Tokyo? We are not going Disney Land.
I have found few ryokan in Hakone. You guys experience any nice ryokan can introduce me? My budget is RM1200 max per night.

2) Shall I put 1 day trip to Osaka at weekend or Kyoto's weekend more interesting?

Thanks in advance thumbup.gif

Plus I got a question, whether or not worth to separate the stay for 2 different places (Shinjuku-mid schedule then Tokyo-End schedule)? Or just stay at Shinjuku is good enough?

stay at Shinjuku good enough. no need to move actually.

Exchange all in Malaysia gives you better rate (typically). But if you scared to carry too much yen then change some in Malaysia and withdraw the rest once you get to Japan ba.

RC,

need your help blush.gif

Refer to below Pass :
The Marugoto Nikko Kinugawa Free Pass includes the round trip from Tokyo and unlimited travel on trains between Nikko and the Kinugawa and Yunishigawa area and on buses from central Nikko to Okunikko and in the Kinugawa and Yunishigawa area. The pass is valid on four consecutive days.

Just to double confirm, the above pass can take any bus company in Nikko? Or there is only one bus company in Nikko? Thanks!

Yep haha, changed my mind about withdrawing the money in japan. I do not want to have any risk in japan without cash...

Also is there any place to suggest for money exchange? I have euro and consider of changing at the airport but i think i can get better rate in tokyo.
