QUOTE(DonDropUrSoap @ Dec 5 2015, 01:03 PM) eye-ing at japan for upcoming holiday trip... but seeing the transportation part make me so confusing it's not that bad lah. i'm assuming you looking at tokyo metro/train map and confused by all the lines? in the end just pakai google maps or hyperdia to search where you want to go, easy easy only. |

QUOTE(tehmc @ Dec 13 2015, 02:18 PM) It is hard to decide. What do you advise? Thanks. I don't see why it is hard to decide, since you have already calculated the cost of each option, and you've identified the other pros & cons like overnight in the bus is tiring. For me I will take shinkansen because (i) I am an unker who can't really sleep that well on bus (i.e. needs a proper comfortable bed to sleep; and (ii) I am an unker who if don't get proper night's sleep, next day very tired and sleepy one. sora7777 calculate yourself lar. Go hyperdia or Japan guide and check how much the train ticket costs to the places you wanna go.
Then compare against JR pass price. Then you got your answer. |

Word of caution for AirBnB. When searching for an apartment, the AirBnB map show this apartment as being in the left hand side red circle area (very near tsukiji).
After I book liao and got the address and directions, actually is 1.0km walk away in the right hand side red circle!!! ![]() This post has been edited by deodorant: Dec 31 2015, 11:10 AM |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Dec 31 2015, 11:18 AM) Maybe you can try to check whether there is any airbnb advertised at the 1km address. I suspect they both belonged to the same host and he/she decided to give you the further one. No leh, this one was 'instant book' so I got the exact same unit (same photos and everything), just that the location was quite different Anyway 15-20mins walk from tsukiji ... ok lah ... consider it as a morning exercise lol. QUOTE(kucingfight @ Dec 31 2015, 12:23 PM) haven't decided which place to stay at kyoto Try this one: http://www.shiraume-kyoto.jp/en/ |

QUOTE(Victor3010 @ Jan 2 2016, 09:32 AM) Icic... The remainder days i would just spend it in tokyo.... I will be there for 13 days 12 night ,activation of japan rail pass is on day 3.... So you are doing 1d Osaka 2d Kyoto 1d Nara 1d Nagoya 1d Yokohama If you are OK with spending so much time on trains, and OK with touch & go Kansai area, then OK lor. Nara 1d memang enough but 3d Osaka+Kyoto is just skimming the surface. 1d Nagoya also seems like very touch & go but I haven't been there before so I dunno. |
