Timed entry is just to let you enter that HP area...still need to queue like others. Express pass 5 & 7 (need to pay) allows you to enter the area and use a faster lane.

oh...its universal studio..i thought u guys mean disneyland

Ana have plenty of flight in one day...
I have not fly with ANA before that why I am asking for opinion here..whether it is good or not
*
AAX = flight tix
ANA = flight tix + food + 25 KG luggage
your choice to want to include food and/or luggage or not and the total cost is still cheaper/more expensive than ANA
i'd take ANA is the price gap so close

I agree, MAS soft product actually still good.

For this kind of thing, I go by "you get what you pay"... Not like many people, sit AK complain, sit MAS also complain, buy ticket buy the lowest fare go argue why cannot change this and that  rclxub.gif .
*
yup..u get what u pay
i got my MAS tix cheaper than AA...MAS is still better for me

Yah, just stay in Tokyo. to travel from Tokyo to Hokkaido/Osaka already waste some time and money. If u want to go those 2 places, next time u can fly direct to Osaka or Hokkaido. Can follow bro lucaswjk suggestion and go Hakone and Lake Kawaguchiko to see Mount Fuji thumbup.gif
*
is it much better to stay overnight for hakone and kawaguchiko or do a day trip?

fuji hakone free pass is 3days
to fully ultilized it, u better plan max 3days
and recommended to go earlier coz most of the shop/restaurants/tram close at 6-7pm...
after 7pm... ur only activity is onsen

1.5day hakone (1nite)
stopover gotemba
1.5day kawaguchiko (1nite)
*
my flight is same with any of u guys...via AA arriving at HND
i plan to go for the hakone and kawaguchiko 1st thn only proceed to stay the remaining days at tokyo(to make it as light as possible 1st)
will be there for 8 days
and since i'm going with family of 4 and budget seems to be limited...see how the planning goes after i researched the accommodation prices at hakone and kawaguchiko

Accommodation prices at Hakone and Kawaguchiko are seriously expensive.
Want good view ? very expensive.
Want cheap? See nothing. See Tree only.

I go Kawaguchiko, I sleep at tent only. See the Tips of the Month that have the view of Japan 1000 Yen Bill picture.
Cheap + great view
*
family holiday go sleep tent like not very nice laugh.gif
thats why i ask previously is it possible to do a day trip to these place or necessary to overnight there
if can do day trip, the expensive accommodation won't bother me

What is "best?" Cheapest? Shortest flight time? Most comfortable?

Off hand, three options: Malaysia Airlines KK-KL-Tokyo, or Asiana KK-Seoul-Tokyo. Or AirAsia.
*
malaysia airlines have direct flight to narita..shortest travelling time but not cheapest
