Just remember the RD is dumb and controlled by the shifter. If you want to learn, try it and see what happens. Nothing is going to break.

They look nice but I've decided that I should only buy if I'm going to ride it.

Did you widened the frame by 20mm? Wow, that's a lot!

I'd be interested to know if these bikes ride as well as the modern ones. The frames are very heavy it seems.

Ok denyhazrin, please tell us what it is like owning an older Dahon. Good and bad points. What it is like to ride compared to a modern Dahon?

Thanks!

Hi all sifus,

I'm planning to buy Tern Verge P20. Any owners that can shared their experiences on this bike if possible? I read about Verge P20 that it can go fast onroad and a good hill climber....dunno how true it is, as for my cycling style, I may want to go for both type, but not the jungle road type la....heheh.... and next year I'll be joining the Mountain Climb Challenge icon_rolleyes.gif , and not sure if this bike can at least help me out for the climb...I knw my own engine need to train up too... tongue.gif

Currently I have a Garion bike with only 7 speeds, and dun think it can helps if I want to go for other challenging events/activities.

i didnt own p20 but own a p9
for what i can say the extra different price between the p9 and p20 money, u can moded easily with the same price but with better component.better get the verge n8 and customized ur own component.

for greater money save, better get dahon vigor instead (same design frame) and get a good road component moded into 20speed.i also mod my p9 to 20speed and already done penang round island and also climb to cameron highland yesterday.

the verge is a good frame and stiff for what i can say.only the component bundle with the p20 a bit pricey imho.but some people like to used their bike stock without any modification, so the p20 will suite. laugh.gif

Have you crossed the 2nd bridge? Bicycles are banned from using the bridge, as far as I know.

As for the chain, you going to ruin the extra chain length if you take out one by one. Set the RD at the smallest cog and the front chainring (you got only one chainring). Just adjust the length where the chain doesn't touch the RD cage. As long as possible but not touching the RD cage when it is at the smallest cog.

For convenience ok lah. Probably not worth RM200 looking at the quality of the tools.
