anyway,
today i had a chance to pedal my p9 side by side with the honourable rkhairulrijal and his verge x20! ![]() and here is side by side comparison 406 and 451 size different done by en rijal ![]() and what i can find within our ride is, 55t + 406 = 53t + 451 bydaway, ur leg will make it different!! QUOTE(desastar @ Nov 28 2015, 02:57 PM) Wow, side by side, the 451s are quite a bit larger eh? Where's a good place to get a nice set of 451 in KL? depends on brand. most of good exotic wheelset u can get easily at vans urban. but the price, u know lah..Bro, where did you buy yours? S'pore? got few more brand.u can either get a decaf wheelset also around rm700+ and one more brand forgot the name around rm400+ that can easily fit tern & dahon.the wheelset also come in disk version or vbrake version. but please be noted, take extra caution for the front hub as dahon and tern mostly sized 67mm unlike normal bike 100mm.mine already change the fork and its can occupied 100mm front hub. and NOT ALL FRAME CAN accept 451 wheelset.must try and error 1st.v brake also need to mod or change to caliper brakes unless ur bike is using diskbrakes.. |

for me
new rm1k below bike is a good for startup.trinx ka2016 is a good model and great value for money 16speed gear are enough already.gearing can be upgrade later so does wheelset and other things. after a while riding with groups or so on, u can decide which bike are u want, how many gear want to use and ofcoz, that time money must have lor..hihihi train urself if wanna improve.maybe u can adopt ur current bike and no need upgrades! |

QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 4 2015, 07:12 PM) I've just picked this up. A 2011 Dahon Speed TR. I was deciding between a Speed P8 and this, very similar price. I figured you are getting so much more for your dollar with the TR. wow!!! where did you get this piece of germ?Sram Dual Drive which I really like. Very adjustable handlebar stem. Biologic dynamo front hub Seatpost pump Full racks Ergon grips Kinetic rims MKS detachable pedals But.....it is heavy. I can easily lose 2 kgs, but I will leave it the way it is for now. It has done some kms judging by the wear of the back tyre, but incredibly, the bike is flawless, no paint damage etc. I rode a couple of kms back home and it felt like a big bike due to the weight. The gears all changed smoothly. Might have to tighten the clamps, adjust the hubs and headset, but other than that, all good! Any TR fans out there? this is one of the kind.no need to mode and u are ready for long touring i can say..i could easily pick this speed tr over the speed p8 coz its quite rare nowdays.its a collectible bike!!! bydaway, mind to share how much u bought this? |

nowdays dahon from china are not that much different as long as the china manufacturer follow the quality control..
but dahon made from china around year 2013-2014 bundle with a lousy component.the new 2015 equipt with goodies just like the era of dahon made in taiwan. as for groupset, i dont care about the groupset as long as the frame are good.besides i do have good groupset to use with the dahon.. bydaway, those speed tr are a good buy! keep it as the bike is a collector bike! |

QUOTE(PaulKong @ Dec 5 2015, 08:17 PM) its easy bro.the main reason is compactness. i put my bike on my car (viva) and i need compact bike as i also load my family with me. i dont have B's (that is i possibly won't buy for now,u can get a good roadbike with that price). 30km route or below i usually rode my 16" bike QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 5 2015, 09:21 PM) Good to hear the Chinese Dahon are good quality. Yes the TRs seems to be fairly rare. I'll keep it until I run out of room again! If only all folding bikes are this good!! if u want to sell it, please advertise here 1st. i might recomend this bike more compare to the tern verge s27i (folding touring bike). the chromoly frame is the best material for touring! |

QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 6 2015, 06:40 AM) Sure, will let you know first, although this will be tricky bringing with me on the plane. Hey maybe I can visit you in Ipoh and go for a ride! Never been there. mu p24 its are a bit rare here. the mu p27 can get,but only used one.that mu p27 is a made in china version with dr hon 30th anniversary version! Can you get the Mu P24 there? Should be the same gearing but alloy frame, which some people prefer because it is a little lighter. bydaway, i dont like the mu frame coz dont have chainstay on it (accept for mu slx).dont get me wrong, its just my personal opinion only. anyway, u can drop by here in ipoh anytime.just let me know and i will adjust some lovely ride for you if the time permits. QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 6 2015, 06:55 AM) Quick question, where can I buy a good headset for the Dahon in KL? Are the Litepro ones genuine? Haha err.. if u buy here i think the litepro one are genuine. if im not mistaken litepro got its representative here in malaysiamaybe u can try few shop like kimbell jaya or my bicycle shop.if online fb shop i like to buy from mike bicycle shop.its cheaper than other online shop (depends on what u are buying) and got many folding bike item! |

QUOTE(hnr2802 @ Dec 9 2015, 08:54 PM) hahahah, i didnt change the hub. i change the internal seal bearings / bearings to the higher rpm type of bearings.that one, i cant do it for myself.my friend do it for me the cost are much cheaper than changing the whole hub, but twice the performance! |

QUOTE(hnr2802 @ Dec 9 2015, 09:46 PM) the question is, are you willing to travel up to ipoh to do it?i think major old bikeshop know how to do it.basicly this method already been done by many rb cyclist/rb pomen long time ago. the different is nowdays, roadbike wheelset manufacturer (branded and good one) does sell their hub bearing spareparts for upgrade.. |
