QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 15 2015, 06:04 AM) This bike has no provision for mudguards or rack so that alone will put some people off. The existing rear guard looks weird. I still like my foldy in steel or titanium and 9kg is not light for a carbon one don't you think? I don't think they planned to put in a rack. Their description of the foldie is folding velo hahaaa. I think it is 11kg but if you carry one around and especially if you are a lady, a 11kg foldie is much much more relief than a 14kg + Brompton. My only doubt is the flexing and creaking found in most carbon frames. Even the Oribike creaks like nobody's business. Still, waiting for the blasted Dahon Curl to be launched so that comparisons can be made is wiser.

QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 9 2015, 07:51 PM) If the bike is only single speed, then you are unlikely to have a rear derailleur mount. Easiest would be to get a hub gear, maybe a three speed and they will give you a wider range. I have a modern single speed and I can get to most places, so you'll need to know where you ride and accept its limitations. thanks for answering

QUOTE(etigge @ Dec 15 2015, 10:58 AM) You still need a cassette opening tool. The one shown is just to hold the cassette. And also you need a spanner wide enough to unlock the cassette opener. I hv a big spanner, is lockring is standard size for all bikes? Or bike specific? I saw on YouTube like that tool(cassette holder)+ spanner only Sorry totally noob on bike, used to just let bike shop fix everything. This post has been edited by 266K: Dec 15 2015, 11:49 AM

Presumably you have a cassette, not a freewheel? This post has been edited by desastar: Dec 15 2015, 12:59 PM Attached image(s)

QUOTE(mscw88 @ Dec 15 2015, 01:03 PM) Asogo folding bike any good ? price seems pretty affordable / cheap ! Sifu here said buy only tern or Dahon. I just paid 1k for used Dahon, it was almost zero maintainance other than some chain lubed. I can assure u the bike critical parts can still keep up quite good, all clamps, brakes, gear still excellent condition. It oso got both grips bar end scratched but it didn't cause handling ride any issue...overall I think it is a good buy. Shiok sendiri. Lol Only thing I think could be better is the cloudy white frame, payah to keep clean lo. This post has been edited by 266K: Dec 16 2015, 08:08 PM

Hello Sifus again. From your experience and a design perspective, which brand of bicycle have much more robust hinge mechanism? Dahon or Tern. And how likely can you find replacements for specialized wear and tear parts suck as the hinge lock and bearings? On another note, does Tern or Dahon cover frame failure in their warranty in Malaysia?

so far, i know 1 person named hakim bahar from johor already claim the whole frame.his link p8 only broken the hinge screw and not the hinge itself.. actually he was looking for the screw replacement dan tern malaysia replaced it with the new frame immidietly!

Very simple, so such thing as free lunch. You pay for what you get! Having said that, I got a quote for a Kinetix Comp front wheel for my Dahon TR from US dealer, Thor USA. RM495........ just for the one front wheel. And you can buy a whole Chinese bike for less. Which is better value This post has been edited by desastar: Dec 15 2015, 04:31 PM

This was my first folding bike many years ago. Aomei-what??? Bought it because it was cheap. When it arrived, I knew it was a monkey bike, and even monkeys would refuse to ride it. Didn't ride well, didn't fold well, didn't brake well.....just a disaster! What a waste of materials used in producing it. I told my wife to ride to the shops one day. It was downhill most of the way. She then had to push most of the way home with all the groceries and cursed me all the way home, hahahahaha!!!! I gave it away for a kid to use. So it was cheap, but what for?? LOL Attached thumbnail(s)

Which is better value Why don't you call Rodalink Botanic Garden, Klang and ask for Sam. I think they still have one or two and they sell just the front wheel alone (that is if they still have the stock). If I was not mistaken they sell it for about RM700 for the front and back and the front, I think less than half of that. It's the same hweelset as the Dahon Speed, MU when they were still using Kinetix sourced from WTBs.

No, you CANNOT do that ! 8 speed shifters means 8 speed cogs/cassette. Also chain is of different width. Common sense tells you that a 8,9 and 10 speed cassette can fit into the same hub on the wheelset. So, this means the total width are the same for all 3 different cassette. So, it means the thickness of the cogs are different in the 3 types and the pull of the shifters cable are of different length. Yes, I do hear from say, " Works perfectly, it can be used" . Do you want to try that and go riding?
