QUOTE(PaulKong @ Mar 20 2016, 05:37 PM) Yeah... It took me quite sometime. I though to still could wait until I saw this beauty in raw lacquer. And each raw lacquer are different too as the wielding skills are slightly different in each bike. agree with u sir...Brompton for it's heritage and its fold size...It has all the specs that I wanted, a M handlebar, racks and reduced gearing of 44t, all matches my ideal Brompton. And a 2016 model have a serial number plate that I think it's really cool 😍😍😍 but if i am too malas too fold ill rather choose my One Touch Picnica Bridgestone Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(etigge @ Mar 29 2016, 03:53 PM) From the looks, you can try tighten the big fastener . I think the fastener from any grinder can be used. Or else you can use a flat head screw driver and hammer softly until it tightens. Just make sure which part is wobbling. Also check the handle post extension part. See if it is really tighten. Also the headset bearings, are they OK. I can't really confirm because I can't see clearly. tq etigge..nice info The fastener works the same way as the newer Dahons. The newer ones has treads on the inside of the fork steerer and yours are with treads on the outside. Works the same way, they pull and hold the fork from falling off. The present handle post or Lite pro ones can be installed but needs some modifications. Then, you will lose the classic looks of the bike. Try to tighten all moving parts and see. |

QUOTE(built @ Jul 29 2016, 09:27 AM) Hi All... MIND SHARING THE CHOPPER PIC??First posting... I used to own Chopper (purple) back in the 70s... and have not been cycling since. Am also not very familiar with bike specs... but have shortlist the following... Tern Link N8, Dahon Vitesse and Dahon Boardwalk as they are within my budget. Would appreciate it that the more experienced members (sifu / otai) here could provide some suggestions on which of the 3 would be a better choice. And also please advice if there are any other brands/ models that could be considered. Thanks. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 5 2016, 08:09 AM) This was the same model and colour of the Raleigh Chopper that I ride to school in the 76s. Those days it cost RM265.00 ( a normal Ah Soh bike was only RM65.00 then ). This is already the Mark 2, second edition. You can differentiate it because Mk 2 has the handlebar swept forward. I saw one or two in Mudah.my but they were not complete and mostly have the their gear box missing. They are selling it for quite a sum as well. For those really who really wants attention, I can bet you, you will get the most attention if you ride one , refurbished in Car Free Day. Guaranteed! Bromptons are getting too common nowadays. The 3 speed Sturmey Archers are not a problem as they are not very much different from those in Brompton nowadays. But Sturmey Archer has been taken over by a Taiwanese company already so they are not made in UK anymore. Fascinating 😁😁![]() This is the Mark 1. Higher rear which was useless actually, maybe carry another friend at the back ![]() And last year, Raleigh did a small production of limited units to satisfy the request of many former Chopper riders. Only last year they did it in limited numbers. But they looked different. ![]() |
