QUOTE(keeganwoon90 @ Jan 12 2016, 12:36 AM) You should rephrase your question to 'Do you guys prefer working in a big 4 with no life most of the time, or a really small size firm with a higher chance of a better life'In mid-tier firms, especially if you work in audit, it can be worse than Big 4. So if you really want a life, you should aim lower. Otherwise, just go to a big 4 instead of a mid-tier firm, it has better brand name, better pay and better exposure since have a life is not much of an option already. |

How much is fresh grad starting salary in Big 4 now? Last I heard all paying roughly the same amount between the range of 2.7 - 2.8k. Is this accurate?

Anyone working in PwC's taxation line?I am curious about the hiring process.Hr called for a general background check only after I placed my online application for 1.5 month.I am just wondering if the assessment is on the interview day or assessment first then only interview. In the meantime I have attended interview at ey and might get an offer really soon

Can someone shed some light on the Big 4's transaction due diligence (financial, tax, IT) division? The amount of details in due diligence reports that I came across is quite intriguing

QUOTE(keeganwoon90 @ Jan 12 2016, 12:36 AM) Big4. No question about it. Look far, aim high... it's not forever, the things you see and the people you meet would make up for the additional hours. Not to mention what is on your CVOthers have mentioned so I won't repeat. Life in medium firms aren't rosy at all; while small ones you learn the outdated stuffs. |

QUOTE(keeganwoon90 @ Jan 12 2016, 12:36 AM) You maybe surprised that medium firm workload may even exceed Big4 especially with the low SADs of the companies you are covering. Not all the staffs in Big4 work late due to workload ... |

QUOTE(keeganwoon90 @ Jan 12 2016, 12:36 AM) Definitely big4.I know people from both big4 and mid-tier firms... With the same amount of years in experience, you can see that the mid-tier ones have barely any exposure or experience. QUOTE(sparda @ Dec 31 2015, 05:38 AM) I'm from the consulting arm of one of the big 4. So I suppose you're in Deloitte? lolBroadly speaking there are three divisions: 1) Management consulting - these guys are supposed to do strategy work, but most of the glam strategy work goes to MBB so the bread and butter is project management work. 2) Tech consulting (I'm in this one) - we do stuff like SAP/dashboard/database implementation etc, again the high-level IT strategy work goes to MBB. 3) HR consulting - they do stuff like human resource role transformation etc. Anything in particular u wanna know? |
