Think I recall a post from you a couple months back that you're doing pretty well for your age
What happened since then?
*
U sure me? Mhaha.. well, I think for msian, yes, doing decent and stable. Now need to think where I'm heading and next year I definitely should increase my salary. But I'm handicapped because there are FT above and below me on spass. Ie earning less than 2.8k/month. And this is industry wide.. So me, on epass am stuck in no mans land. Can't ask for more from current company due to easily replace me with cheap FT and I can't jump because other companies won't willing to pay my salary..

And this is the fact for a lot of pass holders starting out or have 3-5 years working experience.. we are trapped.

I've been trying to convert to pr, but to no avail thus far. I think once you become pr, you are no longer tied to the merciless permit system and free to move around. Until then, salary is significantly surpressed and is frustrating.

You should try looking at the listings here.

Will give you an idea about the prices and the types of units available.

(Singapore defenders incoming).

Anyway those that like it will like it. Those that dont wont but will endure for the money, and maybe over time will like it.

Hopefully the 6.9mil pop target remains a fantasy, because the mrt is packed enough during peak hours

Thanks bro titarium, very thoughtful !

How long you been in S'pore ?

QUOTE(titarium @ Dec 15 2015, 03:48 PM)
For your transfer pay should be sufficient to bring family over , 70 - 80 % of your MY pay are the common package, better still if your wife is working ,

kids education should take about : 1-2k ( depend on age) .
Daily meals ( Not too fancy)        : 1.5 k
Rental ( a HDB )                        : 2-3k (depending on location)
Moving your family                    : Dependent pass
Tax                                            : Only income Tax ( next is GST which paid whenever you pay)
PR                                            : after receiving pay for 6 month ( but alot recommend that to do it after paying your first income tax )

May be abit tight but is better if your wife is able to work as well , else wife full time housewife cut off day care and mostly home cook easily can save 1k + -

Since you have a family it is a better choice to stay in SG, to me is not worth the travelling time especially if you can have middle income above range in SG ,
4 hours daily commuting * 5 day = 20 hours a week on the road (in my opinion isn't worth it )
Spend your time for yourself and with family = something you can't exchange with money.
Staying in Johor makes it difficult to OT
*unless work place around Tuas or Woodlands may have a chance to cut down to 2-3 hours border crossing time

Just be mentally prepare =  a smaller place for your family , in exchange for a safer environment and a better education system (never mind the Kiasu scoring comparison that's constantly going on )

Not like I wanted to come here also.. company seconded me back to sg. Kicking and screaming.

But since I was here, thought why not make it. Situation in msia is getting worst and worst everyday.

And having sg experience also looks good on resume. End up now become kuli.

Bro you got 6 figure salary and luxury car man, even if thats in KL it means you are a high earner
Don't see how stuff like GST and toll hikes are gonna affect you much

Definitely beats fighting with S-pass holders here (which doesn't add up to a 6 figure salary btw)

So if I interpret it correctly, you were high flyer six figure per annum salary in Malaysia with Rolex & luxury car, then came over to SG against your will and now can't compete with the s$40-s$50k pa S Pass FTs? hmm.gif

I know. So, the company compensates by giving me 16% on top of my salary as allowance. smile.gif
