Anyone know what's the average pay for a Finance Manager or Audit Manager in SG?
What's the range for small, medium and large (MNC/Listed) companies?

Can anyone here share their experiences managing their personal finances? I'm planning to ask my employer to bank my salary to an international bank (HSBC). Will there be TT charges between HSBC Singapore and HSBC Malaysia? I plan to use a HSBC Singapore account for my daily needs and remit the majority of my savings to my HSBC Malaysia SGD account, converting only when exchange rates are favourable.
*
I suggest use maybank, cimb or more recently uob.
U can still keep ur money in hsbc sg but when u want to transfer back remit to ur mbb/cimb/uob singapore accounts via Fast (instant), then only remit back. Mbbsg to mbb my is free if u keep a certain amt .

Apparently if you have Premier Account in Malaysia, it allows you to leverage Premier facilities in Singapore as well. I can thus repatriate to a SGD account in the Malaysian branch without fees or needing to convert.
*
Ah premier accounts. Too poor for tht.

(Singapore defenders incoming).

Anyway those that like it will like it. Those that dont wont but will endure for the money, and maybe over time will like it.

Hopefully the 6.9mil pop target remains a fantasy, because the mrt is packed enough during peak hours

Friday crossing to Msia can be madness. I have taken Aeroline a few fimes and departing 645pm can arrv KL between 12 smtg to 2 smtg. Depends on custom situation and of course highway traffic. If on major festive season like CNY, avoid bus at all cost or you pandai pandai take some leave so that you depart or go back to SIN on non peak day. My friend spent 10 hours on bus fron SIN to KL.

Be well aware of airline promo helps too, example i managed to secure MAS air tic for $120 for the christmas weekend booking it as early as aug/sept. Yest again booked MAS with similar price for Jan / feb weekend ticket. Always avoid last minute ait tic if you can. Example 3 days ago i bought Tigerair one way SIN to KL for tomorrow night, cost me $138.

Yeah, today I read all the crazy jams from JB to SG. Terkejut I. shocking.gif

Gotta plan well then. biggrin.gif

When i first came here a 2-3 years ago the traffic at tuas wasn't that bad. Most of the time we would reach on time. This year that went away, so I end up getting stuck for at least 1 hour before I even get into SG immigration (leaving SG for KL), so I end up arriving really late, which is not very nice for the parents picking us up.

So I decided to fly instead. More predictable.

Sorry, I can't help because I'm not in SG yet. blush.gif

Alexandra is a very long stretch. Are you guys nearer to the Mapletree Business City area, or the ikea area, or the car showrooms area?

For those getting their CPFs given back to them in cash, do note that the CPF limit is now SGD6000 per month, increased from SGD5000. So if you're making 6k or more, your CPF "allowance" should be 6000 * 17%. Do claim from your employers, especially those in the Big 4 audit firms smile.gif

For the rest of the PRs, the deduction is an additional S$200 more now sad.gif

Have to give recognition to those scholars who spent their childhood and teenage mugging away for the country's future while others are enjoying themselves right. SG scholars are cream of their time not anyhow one ok. They make it in the working life or not is another thing, but if I have an opportunity, scholars will be my main choice instead of giving it away to ah cat ah dog knocking on my door.

My baby are learning economics now even though he can't even roll himself over. Next time not some big shot of Temasek also big shot of GIC already.

You're right, need to be top 10% to own 2000 sqft condo. Median household income stands at close to 10k.
*
2000sqft. Average psf price for condo abt 1200 to 1500. So sgd3m for ur 2k sqft sky mansion.

3M if u take loan means have to upfront 600k and a monthly installment of abt 8k for 35 years. So lets say uuse 40c of ur income to pyur combined monthly income is 20k.

Wah really elite man.

Scary isn't it? If I got 600k sgd cash, I convert it back to 1.8mil RM go back buy one landed house cash 600k rm, buy 1 car cash 100k rm, 100k stand by cash, 1 mil in bank eat interest retired already. In SG still need work for 30 years pay loan leh.
*
Lol IF I have 600k put in singapore shares at 3 to 4% yield can have comfortable rm5k to spend every month. And since sgd always appreciates ill get a increment every year!

600k @ 4% = sgd24k. X 3.0 = rm72kpa /12 = rm6k.
