How much should I be getting? I see those jobstreet ads for accounts executive only about 2.2k to 2.8k and on top of that, i didnt get any replies LOL.

The penalty is 3 months pay if i leave early.

I actually made an appointment in August 2016. I was actually hoping I could find another job and land the PR both when the time comes but....it seems GG.... haihz... is it possible to postpone my PR application when I made the appointment alrteady?

It really doesn't matter how much you "should" be getting, no one can tell you that
Just go out and ask for the pay you want, if you cannot secure the offer at that level then the reality is employers dont think you're worth that much

But regarding your PR scenario, I suggest you check with MOM if it is even legal for your company to create such a contact to bind you if you get PR (the PR is not issued by your company, so why are they allowed to bind you?)
Also, what is the penalty in the contract if you need to break it?

I will check with MOM regarding that matter.

Penalty to break contract is compensate my 3 months pay. that is about 8.1k SGD ..... work 3 months for free.

so when u are confronting the bank and you will tell them u are doing transactions on behalf of your company on your personal account?
why did your company not use their own bank accounts for those transactions but instead used your own personal account?"
that alone sounds like money laundering

That is the problem I never think off when my boss transferred the money to me.

My boss went back overseas and put me in charge of all payment settlement as I am his accounting staff. So he just use his internet banking and transferred the money into my account. So while he is in overseas, I have to make all the payment on behalf including worker wages from my savings account.

As he is in overseas for a long time, he would not be able to sign any cheque and pass it to me. Hence the burden fall to me as he prefer to be in overseas.

I did tabulate the spreadsheet to monitor the movement of the cash flow in case there is any doubts as money is a pretty sensitive thing.

But sigh.....I doubt the bank will agree to give me a chance to explain. And I am not sure whether I am going to be blacklisted.

Thanks anyway.

8.1k huh, well worse case if the contract is legit, you can just take it first and break later
Assuming you get a job that pays $500 more you will make it back easily, plus the housing + CPF benefits of being a PR should make it worth it anyway

Employment letter. Haihz damnit man... lets say I go with the application this year... lets say by next year June 2017 I get approved.... then wait for 3 years before I can leave without breaking contact...

I am already 31 yrs old already... dont know if other companies still want me to start doing accounts since I got zero experience in accounts.... since I do audit & tax only...

Apply for your PR. At the moment based on what I heard, it takes more than 6 months to approve. While waiting for the status, find yourself a new job. Then notify them on the change in job.

Being on low pay with a small company is not going to help your application. If not wrong, the size of your firm and your salary are one of the factors that can affect whether your pr is approved.

Is your fiancee a pr already? If you're planning to apply first (instead of applying together) then get her a spouse pr, it may take a few years more as I heard ICA may reject applications from newly married spouse.

No good news cry.gif

But like I said above ler, you can still consider getting your PR and paying the penalty anyway
Worth it in my opinion
Think of how much CPF you lose every month you get your PR later, and also the happiness in getting your HDB earlier icon_idea.gif

But your bigger problem is prob that you cant seem to get a better job out there

They implied to me it is indeed a big problem with my bank account. I heard the words alert list and legal department. But they did not confirm it as expected.

Personally I know I did nothing wrong. What should I do? Is it serious?

Please kindly advise. I want to clear my name if possible.

Thanks.

I thought of it also... but can you actually change job in the midst of waiting for approval?

This is because there is one page of the PR application form that requires the company to disclose some sensitive information / financial information.

So you sure can change job while waiting for approval?

My fiancee is working in Singapore under S pass. We plan to apply together this year.

yes.... I dont know why... I wonder if its because I use the wrong platform or what... I use jobstreet.... plus I am applying for accounts position when I only have audit & tax experience only...

I feel very down as I feel my pay is very low.... I dont know what is the average pay for my field...

I feel the increment is very slow... is 100 per year normal?

but not sure if it will be able to escape using that method or not... since my boss is of that TYPE of person.... as I did apply PR under the company name at FIRST.

Perhaps you might want to consider updating your linkedin as well. A lot of employers/headhunters lurk there.
