Managed to apply for my foreigner friend 30Mbps using my previous UniFi installer. RM 179 with Aneka package and free one month. Then no need to pay RM 500 deposit for foreigners. thumbup.gif

Today my own 30Mbps is crazy, upload speed is consistently more than 10Mbps. thumbup.gif

God damn, I can't stop laughing when some people mention that the latest model of router had no antenna. How the fuck does a wifi router function if it doesn't have fucking antenna.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

can unifi 30mbps stream youtube 4k video?
*
15-20Mbps solely for 4K streaming is the minimum requirement.
If your bandwidth is 15Mbps, when another device is using part of the bandwidth, your 4K is gone.

Not actually ok according to industry standards. If tikus gigit rosak somewhere in between, you'll need to replace the entire length of cable from the FDP into the house. Don't even bother splicing because you'll need to retrieve the entire length of fiber cable to do it.

The fiber termination box/demarc point outside your house is supposed to be the hands-off section for the telco infrastructure/wholesale to terminate.

This practice is done in Google Fiber/Japan/Singapore/Europe.

The wholesale telco will set up and pull the fiber from the telephone pole right to this box and it ends there.

After that (2nd installation visit) the customer can choose to call the consumer section of the ISP(whichever he chooses) to continue extending the line inside his house and set up his connections. Either that or he can also call a 3rd party contractor, experience wireman who stocks fiber cables, or DIY the remaining section from the termination box.

Just like your TNB line in your house. Tenaga Nasional don't bother how you wire your electrical sockets inside your home. Their work is done once they set up your meter outside your home to their "grid".

Due to mishandling of customer CPE and modems, their ISP will courier(mail in) the devices directly to the customers of have them pick them up by hand from their centres. They won't allow installers to handle the inventories of BTUs/Routers/DECT Phones due to mishandling, corruptions and manipulating stocks to their own advantage.

All of sent directly to the customer as DIY kits for keeping so they get EXACTLY what they ordered including account login passwords/details.

You either pay a qualified consumer end installer, an experienced wireman or DIY if you know what you're doing to save on extra installation costs.

but that scenario normally not applicable here....due to monopoly, all others ISP is relies on TM infra for fiber communication except time telecommunication... dunno what will be happen to myrepublic whether can penetrate malaysia or not...

for me, what i can see if the rat or something bite the cable, sure need to replace whole cable but it will be free compare the old configuration where need to pay if damaged due to already in the premises...beside the black cable seem more durable compare the white one(old config)...

dunno about the inventories management but is TM not giving the devices after they confirm that premises can be install or not first to their respective installer? like TNB and other utilities are doing the same as they will give the device after order is confirmed or payment already made...

and TM already giving the free installation(hopefully forever), so why bother to DIY and so on...It just only if you really need to renovate your house or re-move the setup to another place...

frankly said: both config has pro and contra.... but we here just need only one thing.... cheaper rate of internet... hopefully myrepublic can enter and do business here...

That's why I can't stop laughing. No external antenna doesn't mean no antenna.

Yes, only through this installer, a Unifi agent. Damn efficient, I also applied mine through them last year and they gave me without asking.

This time, they didn't say anything about this but I simply asked, who knows they agreed to give. laugh.gif With condition pay first and they will reimburse to account.

Based on my own experience, it only took 2-3 days to be reimbursed back to my bank account. biggrin.gif

U look very satisfied with ur 30Mbps connection...I am still thinking whether to upgrade to 30MBPs since a lot of users complain is not stable...

I am. No complaint already. Apps Store issue is solved. Facebook newsfeed issue is solved. biggrin.gif
And now it suddenly gives me 10Mbps of upload. blush.gif
Even my foreigner friend is so happy with 30Mbps as well. biggrin.gif

I have been using since it was introduced in July and earlier some complaints for the Apps Store and FB. The speed is stable all this while for me. Hardly drops below 30Mbps.

Placebo effect is real here.

The network is still the same. laugh.gif

I see a lot of users are unable to achieve full 30Mbps on wireless unlike they can achieve full 10Mbps previously. You can blame the TM router for that. smile.gif

I did a testing and unplugged my Xiaomi nano router, 100% on TM router. Achieved the same speed as my Xiaomi router. laugh.gif
The only thing is it is not that strong when I was about 25m away. laugh.gif So I switched back. laugh.gif

I can't even get 30Mbps on wireless, using Asus RT-N12HP.

Initially only managed to get 18Mbps at best, but after tweaking by changing the 2.4GHz channel to a less congested one, it improves to 23Mbps at best!

Nothing wrong with TM UniFi in this case, but since I stay in a high-rise and wireless access points from neighbors are transmitting in all directions, there is nothing much I could do to further improve the wireless.

I have resorted to use cable (when it's possible to connect directly) or otherwise using HomePlug. In both cases, 30Mbps can be achieved!

the weakness could also be the wireless interface (most likely antenna or driver) of the device itself. I do know some who purchased external USB wireless dongle and can achieve more stable connection with it.

I faced this case when I upgraded from VIP 5 to VIP 10, only my upload speed was increased to 10Mbps but download speed still 5Mbps.

At the end complained and I demanded to open a case for technician to come and check at outside of my house. The next two days, a technician came and fixed for me. I managed to raise another dispute for discounts for the no. of days I didn't enjoy my speed. laugh.gif
