31/10: Submitted my application at TMpoint

4/11: They keyed in the application.

5/11: Fed up with no updates (e-mail), I used the Unifi locator to check my application status. Lo and behold, it's there! (and pending).

9/11: Checked on Locator again, installation date shows up.

14/11: Tentative installation date. Cancelled due to bad weather.

16/11: Installation day. Arrived at 1030, finished in 2 hours. Cable length 45m.

30Mbps users usually have this problem, they might send a technician over to fix the issue from outside

Hi,

I am using the stock router for 2nd level (family hall wheres my tv/androidbox) and a wrt54g repeater-bridge on my 1level, main hall.

i usually get two bar on my first level in my room.

living in a semi detached house.

is it worth it to get n12hp from asus or dlink 650L if budget is not an issue. n12hp looks like it would produce good range+speed.what abt dir-650L (i didnt see any antennas)

No external antenna doesn't means signal strength is weaker.

You should consider using powerline adapter with wifi Example: TP-Link TL-WPA4226KIT. WiFi signal doesn't penetrate well through wall in between floors. Using more powerful router/Ap/repeater doesn't help much.

How does this differ from my current router setup?

edit: thanks. i read up about powerline networking, didnt knew such tech exist.

anyway let say:

unifi stock router > powerline A @ level 2

powerline B > router @ level 1

will i get a significance faster in speed?

edit: or should i just buy Tp Link 300MB AV500 Wifi Powerline Extender?

Same for me, TM called to offer me upgrade from streamyx to Unifi-advance 30 with ruby package @rm189 but without the free call, didn't manage to convince him to include the free call so no deal done.

The WRT54G is old enough and repeater mode will half the available bandwidth.

Get the the TP-LINK powerline extension kit.

hii guys...i've been using unifi 5mb for 4 years oredi, nowadays speed is very bad and always dc,funny thing is i still using stock router(gateway or what model not sure).

i've been thinking whether to

1. terminate current unifi package and subscribe for new 30mb package
OR
2. upgrade directly from current 5mb

my concern is the stock router,if upgrade i believe they wont replace the router rite? if terminate then apply for new 30mb,then they will install new router?

dont wana waste money by buying new router, plus by applying 30mb then i got better speed,24 month contract is not an issue.
