Here the screenshot, prior to disabling Ipv6

user posted image
I googled, and someone suggested disabling IpV6. I did that and so far I am able to access the website said, this lasted so far 10 minutes.

I probably will keep it disabled, but I'm wondering what are the disadvantages/advantages of Ipv6
*
try to use any IPV6 dns and let see if it is working or not. hmm.gif

I'm paying RM 179 excludes GST but I can pay with one of my credit cards and get 10% cash back. So don't really feel the pain. laugh.gif

RM 169 all in? Or just Internet only? I hope it's all in.
Most of us are paying RM (169 -20) + 30 = 179. RM 149 is Internet and RM 30 for cheapest HyppTV package.
*
All in. With aneka hyptv package included. Not included gst. It is a targetted rate. I have been denying their offer many times before for 179, which is the current promotion on the websites. they do specifiy that it comes with 2 years contract and the rate also valid for 2 years as well. But by that time there might be another promotion coming? Lol anyway thats additional saving of at least 240 more than most people.

Good to know that. biggrin.gif
Hope you have a black and white for this. laugh.gif Seen many cases here "cheated" by these telemarketers. laugh.gif

Yes, I also don't bother if it is 2 years or what, who knows next month I will upgrade to 50Mbps? laugh.gif

VIP 20 vs ADV 50 which is better ?
Heavy torrent / download (private tracker, seeding is quite important) and also gaming

Is there an option to block/disable port 53 (DNS) on the WAN side of the stock TM router RG4332? There seems to be a lot of DNS amplification attacks going on and RG4332 has this port opened. Cos my neighbour is complaining of slow internet and he's using stock RG4332.

I've seen at least 2 routers (non-RG4332) affected by it. UDP requests rate at about 1000/sec and up to 10mbps of up/down bandwidth used.

Best way to test your speed is use download manager and download few big files together, this will max out the DL speed. Mine can get 550-580kb/s most of the time until close to end of the month where the speed on and off will be throttled. When this happens, I use Utorrent to cover the "lost" speed laugh.gif
Remember, TM says they don't put quota on DL size, but they throttle on selected servers.

Thanks! blush.gif

For 3 to 6 users, the stock router should be fine. But the AC55UHP provide greater range and way faster wireless. Good for future proof. smile.gif

Welcome =)
Lots of information can be read over there, good job icon_idea.gif
Which modem+router do you use btw? Just curious to know.

Anyway, since I am subscribing the 30mbps, do you guys send in the application through the TM branches or find those agents to run for you?
RM179 = 30mbps + HyypTV right?
Hence, plus the 6% GST would be around RM190 for the final total bill per month? shocking.gif

Celcom To Offer Fixed Broadband Service Soon, Riding On TM’s HSBB Infrastructure

Monopoly ftw.
Obviously no. If with GST sure ends with 5 cents.

I'm interested to see how Celcom will price its fixed broadband. They were quite competitive in the mobile data field recently. If there's some sort of promotion like how Maxis offers its own OnePlan subscribers, then it should be good too.

My only concern would its customer support team, they are usually not trained much on technical aspects and more likely to read from a script and then lodge a report. After that, usually their follow up is pretty slow also.

Yeah me too and our company is using Celcom and they are our customer, we are their customer. laugh.gif
Hoping they will give us some corporate bundled package for fixed broadband. laugh.gif

Then again, look at Maxis Fibre, last I heard it was quite bad compared to UniFi. Not sure now but it seems to give me an impression that TM (UniFi) always keeps the best for themselves. laugh.gif

The problem with Maxis is probably heavy throttling on peak hours, but I think that is to be expected, when UniFi were still offering their VIP packages, Maxis' packages were cheaper than UniFI. Logically speaking, how can Maxis be cheaper when they are riding on TM's infrastructure (cost involved).

Exactly. I will stick to UniFi for now. Unless they can give us some interesting bundle. laugh.gif
Anyway, let's see how it fares. I still remember those days when I used Celcom broadband. laugh.gif
