QUOTE(kingsora @ Nov 29 2015, 11:12 AM) You're using what router? I'm using Mikrotik RB2011UAS but even stock TM RG4332 can give 30mb over WiFi.Mine even If I stand beside router for wifi can only get 25+ No problem through Ethernet. Searching for new router to replace the DIR-615. Tested with my neighbours router. About 7 ft from router separated by one wall. ![]() Here're tests from various locations in my house with my router. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=77571411 This post has been edited by soonwai: Dec 1 2015, 02:31 AM |

QUOTE(ncool15 @ Nov 30 2015, 08:09 PM) Between Nano/Mini shouldnt have any differemce besides the size right? Guess i'll go for it. If it doesnt work as i expected, might just sell it. Haha. I'm thinking of getting one also. I believe the Nano is Wifi-N while the Mini is AC. And Nano is 2.4GHz only right? Can someone confirm that both LAN ports on the Mini is 100mbit and not Gigabit? Thanks for the feedback. |

QUOTE(skypromas @ Dec 1 2015, 10:47 PM) Received a call from TM asking me to upgrade to the new Advance Unifi last Thursday , I took the 30Mbps package . I checked the occ.unifi.my today and noticed that my package changed to Advance Unifi 30 , tried speedtest but getting back previous VIP5 speed ( 5Mbps up and down ). Tried restart router and BTU few times , still the same. I even called 100 and talk to them , they confirmed that I am currently in 30Mbps package in their system . What should I do ? T.T I had the same prob. Upgraded on Weds last week over phone. Activated on Fri. Came home to try and speed was still 10m down but upload already 5m. Checked OCC and already changed to Advance30. Called 100 and over the phone, the guy said he was going to reset the port or something, click-clack keyboard sounds and then he asked me to restart my router. I just disconnected my PPPOE dialer and reconnected and speed was 30m. Took about 15mins over the phone. |

QUOTE(benleong2008 @ Dec 3 2015, 05:39 PM) Made report yesterday for replacement because fibre cable to modem worn out. Then today followed up with them by calling 7 times. Apparently customer service said they help me update the report and made my case a priority today since afternoon. But until now no technician or installation team has called me to make an appointment to come my house for restoration. My neighbour had a similar problem with the fiber from the tiang to her house. It took TM techs 17 days to finally show up and fix it. In the meantime her family was using my wifi. Hope you have better luck. LOL.The thing is customer service promised me can be fixed by next working day when I made report ytd. This kind of shitty service, how?? |

QUOTE(bladegun @ Dec 3 2015, 04:34 PM) I upgraded from Streamyx to Unifi and I received an email asking me to send a photocopy of my IC for Unifi service confirmation. I suspect this is a phishing email. Anyone else receive such an email? First time heard of this, call 100 to confirm. It might be legit or not. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Dec 11 2015, 01:30 PM) I've had enough with maxis ftth, after being with them since 2012. I'm also in Bandar Sg Long. Unifi here is great. I've been using it for 5 yrs now and I only remember 2 outages which affected me, both less than 8 hrs IIRC. I just recently upgraded to Advance30. Actually it was a choice of switching to Maxis Home Fibre or upgrading to Unifi Adv30. Guess I made the right choice from what you're saying about Maxis.Every year, my internet will be down at least 3 times, and it takes 7 to 10 days to fix it, every time. i am staying at bandar so.long, any bro here using unifi in this area? How is the speed and what is your package? There are so many unifi package now, confusing! I am looking at vip5, vip10, and the new advance package. But I heard a lot of complaint on the advance package. Is the advance package good now? I need to upload files as I manage a website, is the upload speed for advance package stable? I am worry it is slow because upload is only 5mbps. I am using Apple MacBook and iPad. Any issues such as the slow Apple Apps Store previously mentioned in this forum? Is it solve? I have astro so no intention to use HyppTV. Can I totally switch off the HyppTV device? Will the Internet connection work with the HyppTV equipment totally switch off? Please advice, thanks in advance! Speed is good as far as speedtests are concerned. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=77571411 There should be only 2 packages now, Adv30 and 50. VIP no more already except for OKU. https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/.../unifi_OKU.aspx I was on VIP10 previously so Adv30's 5mbps upload is definitely slower. Incidentally I'm having problems right now with Mac App Store (browsing the store is slow but downloading is OK) but not with iTunes Store. HyppTV can be thrown away and your Unifi will still work. I haven't turned mine in 3 yrs. This post has been edited by soonwai: Dec 11 2015, 03:45 PM |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Dec 11 2015, 03:45 PM) Good to hear that. But mine is on high rise building, a little bit difference from yours, landed property. Not sure it's as good as yours. Dunno about highrise. Maxis probably using TM's infra. How's the current speed?Mac App Store slow? Found anyway to solve this? Has you call TM and find out the solution? What about iPad App Store? Any issue? Haven't really done anything about the MAS speed. Maybe will lodge complain later. Not sure if it's my MBP's problem. Must R&D first. iPad App Store aka iTunes Store no probs, so far. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Dec 12 2015, 11:40 PM) May I know when your unifi connection is down, how long before the TM technician come to solve the issue? 17 days. My neighbour. Turned out to be a problem with the fibre from the tiang to the house. About 2 months ago.24 hours? 48 hours? Or more than 48 hours? Currently using maxis ftth and want to switch to unifi, hope for a much better response time for onsite visit. Myself, so far haven't had to call yet. Fingers crossed. QUOTE(zher4883 @ Dec 13 2015, 10:41 AM) If TM couldn't handle that much of internet traffic, they wouldn't offer packages at such speed. TM's network engineer is not dumb after all. TM engineer all OK, just scared of their management. But for sure TM will oversell their bandwidth, otherwise no ISP in the world will survive. Just look at the prices of dedicated bandwidth from ISPs like NTT MSC. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Dec 13 2015, 04:32 PM) My guess is when you said 17 days, it is until the issue solved. Unfortunately no, it took 17 days for the tech to come but he fixed it immediately. Replaced the fibre to the house and all was good. Seems it broke somehow. Maybe something bit it.The TM technician came much earlier, right? Maybe landed property problem hard to solve, highrise I do not think so, pretty straight forward in my case. |
