Since when you got it? I only tried mine on Monday because I came back on that day and it's already 10Mbps upload speed.
I'm also one of the early adopters and made complaint after they launched it officially on 15.10. Then got it after SKMM interference, I had to walk in to the nearest TM Point. Managed to reduce to RM 179 before GST now, with Aneka package.

Now I don't think you will need to complain, can straight walk in to the nearest TM Point. Thanks to us who made a lot of noises to SKMM.

I'm using TM stuff and connect to Xiaomi Nano Router as access point. I don't think it matters a lot because even I unplugged Xiaomi router, I still can get full speed. The reason why I use this Xiaomi router is because the WiFi signal is stronger when I'm in kitchen and toilet.

nope, no Hypp TV charges...
my final bill is RM 310.60 = 2 month Unifi (1month prorate & 1 month full) + GST + duty stamp
or maybe because this is first bill and Hypp TV free for 1 month.

Run as Access Point (AP).

Router <-> AP via lan cable.

so the AP will handle the wifi part and router only routing part(in theory will have better performance but if your router is decent enough it doesn't matter much  )

So basically it should be setup like this?

TM modem -> TM router -> Xiaomi Router/Hypptv

yeap. connect your hypptv and xiaomi router to your tm router. don't connect to the wrong port though, I remember that there's a specific port to be used for hypptv and usually for internet too.

I have actually went through the vlan tagging process on DD-WRT via this guide : http://taukeke.com/2014/10/hypptv-on-dd-wrt/

Also tried Tp-link stock firmware from Tp-link Malaysia website. Copy paste the password so it couldn't be that.

Both methods (DD-WRT & Stock firmware) wont connect successfully at all. 
One day i might try Openwrt on this router. I do prefer DD-WRT to Openwrt due to the neater interface.
Is there any advantage of running solely on "Tp-link WR1043ND" vs "Tp-link WR1043ND + RG4332" setup?

Luckily my China colleagues train me well, I can understand well these days.
