Can I request for a new router if I upgrade from 5mbps to 30mbps? The one they gave me previously is DIR-615 and the signal is not strong enough for me to connect from my living room. I placed the router in my room.

Edited : And also the hypptv box.

Reason being is because I am planning to cancel my astro and use android media box installing in living room (provided hypptv one is able to install kodi then I doesn't have to buy one from the market). I checked with my old setup top box (very old and doesn't support installation of app, not even sure if it's running android) and it doesn't work anymore, not sure why. I've never used it before from my first day of unifi registration.

no... upgrade didnt give you new device.... need to buy new one if you want to get...

other way to get new devices, just apply new line, then potong old line....

I've been struggling to fix the wireless connection after upgrading from VIP10 to Unifi30 (30Mbps). After the upgrade I am quite upset that:

1. My DIR-615 router on 802.11b/g mode could not transfer more than 25Mbps(+/-) even when .11g mode can support throughput up to 54Mbps

2. After switching the mode to 802.11b/g/n, I could get more than the upgraded speed (obviously). However:
- My phone's transfer rate is doing great and pretty well done
- My lappy's Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC varies from 0 to 20Mbps, but sometimes still can reach over 30Mbps, causing super unstable connection, ping can reach up to 1000m/s in SEA
- Using ethernet connection on my lappy, the speed's doing what it should be.

3. Using ipv6, wireless network starts to become unstable as f, auto-disconnect and such, mostly happening at 6 - 10pm night.

I have switched back to ipv4 today to check whether is it the protocol itself is acting up. Highly unlikely eh? Hopefully experts here can figure out possible problems and fixes. My speed was super stable last time on VIP10.
*
you must know that speed is theoretical only, you can read any router review, the speed normally not on par with the theoretical value... plus the total available bandwidth of all wireless connection for this router is unknown....that why powerful router will be state what total available bandwidth like tplink wdr4300 if not mistaken is 750mbps(300mbps for 2.4ghz and 450mbps for 5ghz spectrum)

so at the end, change to the powerful router....

p/s: I get Hypptv anywhere plan A email for subscribing.... is it my order in process??? cannot wait any longer for 50mbps.... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

hello guys, can i use my current registered unifi address registered under cheras area at my subang area house? (assuming both of the house has unifi port and equipments are ready to be used and only will be used at either 1 location during active runtime.)

hope u guys get what i wanted to ask..
*
nope... unless dial-up, all digital services(unifi and streamyx) cannot used as one account 2 places as TM need to activate the switch for you(mean you need another account to make sure your port already reserve to you for their services.)

hi guys...

can anyone care to share what steps need to be taken after u receive the email that notify that ur unifi have been succesfully upgraded...

and what did u and tm do after u failed to experience the supposedly upgrade package...

i agreed to upgrade my unifi from 10mbps to 30mbps but my download is still 10mbps but my upload has been reduced to 5mbps which confirms that im on the 30mbps package...on my occ.unifi page also confirms that.
ive reboot, unplug the power source to the router, already filed a report and today the technician come and check and did something in my area but still nothing changed.
i can still menoron at 1.1MBps like any other day while im on the 10mbps.
tomorrow i have to call the technician to report that im still facing the prob...any pointer/s that i can do on my end?
much appreciated
*
calling to them and make complaint... My upgrade only take one day and just see on occ.unifi.my already know upgrade is done... going back, try speed test first get 10mbps... after restart router, bam speed go to 50mbps...

call and make noise....

anyone got the bill already from upgrading vip10 to vip30 with hypptv?
Previously vip10 was Rm208.95(Rm199+gst-rm2(autodebit)).
They told me add RM20 only to upgrade so it should be Rm230.14 (Rm199+rm20+gst-rm2(autodebit)).
now my bill charged for RM245.20.  rclxub.gif
*
please check the pro rated also...need to see either your services is upgrade before your monthly cycle....next month will be ok...

i cannot wait for my bill as my bill is first day of every month, and upgrade around14/15...

Guys
Please advise. I have just upgraded from vip20 to unifi50. After calling support they informed my old router may not support the higher wifi speed.( TP Link 300 wireless n) thus my question. What router would you advise that will support the new bandwidth? Thanks in advance.
*
are you solely on wifi or got wired??? if not fine dual band router.... so far 5ghz give more juice compare 2.4ghz for my case.... normally can get 48-50mbps compare 2.4ghz 38-42mbps...

I always frequent China and one time I followed my best friend back to her hometown which is freaking small. Imagine no KFC, no Pizza Hut, no McD's.
Her house which is an old flat has a 10Mbps speed and only costs her parents around RMB 360 per year. Go and figure it out. laugh.gif

When I'm in Beijing, at her place surfing around 60Mbps in the bedroom and it is free Internet for the whole building.

If we were to compare, I don't know who else can we compare to. laugh.gif
*
360rmb per year??? exact 30rmb or around rm20 per month for 10mbps.......in malaysia 10 times of that prices....

this is why monopolies and cronism sucks....shit2....

Our govt has this business mentality. Use govt to set up the infrastructure ™, monopolise the business, sublet part of the infrastructure to crony companies and they enjoy the monopoly market price!

Our MPs are very good in creating demands for something which they then have companies able to cater for that demands. Eg MyEG etc etc.

Wish one day (and soon) our govt will stop venturing into normal businesses for their own personal gains.

Sorry, off topic.
*
all businesses in malaysia especially on infra or utilities sure profit on one sided only and usually the cronies and without exit term or special term for amortization pricing... look on our highway concessionaire and look to the jaring when TM dont want to let open the dslam box until they end up close the company.... i believe on fiber optic which is supposed this year to be available to others also will be made another period to ensure TM can rip off the customer until dry....lucky technology give the bright side such as digital broadcast where can make astro give better or cheaper after digital broadcast going full swing... i hope local tv can break the monopoly but off course not on paid broadcast like football championship(later astro drop in revenue, no more football league pula...sebab takde sape mahu bid)...

if tppa had better solution on telecommunications, i support them 100%... off course i think that is not of the topic on tppa....heheheh

By the way from the brochure, has anyone noticed the free "500MB/day for TM Wifi"? What does that supposed to mean though.
*
that mean tm wifi limit usage 500mb per day....or 15gb per month... but on all tm wifi i connect, all not working or to damn slow.....
