where you do it? i found a agent he say im downgrading and dont allow me to do this

I would forget about using agents and go straight to a TMPoint.

Of the 5-6 agents I have spoken to, including a few here in PMs, about upgrading from VIP 5, all of them were pig-headed and too tunnel-visioned in helping me get what I would like.

It didn't matter to them that I would rather upgrade so I can negotiate to keep my phone number and free call package because my freelance business depends on it. They just kept insisting that I make a fresh new application because, I am pretty sure, that is how they get the best commission. I also wish they stop sounding like they were doing you a favour and you owe them the business.

So normally it takes within 2hours only to activate 30mbps via tmpoints instead of 3 working days via phone?

It's pretty obivous that TM doesn't want to give us the discount so easy. So they simply come up with a new excuse, said the RM20 discount is subjected to free call plan. So they would ask you: "you betul betul mau tolak 20 ringgit kah? Nanti you punya free call tak ada." But I confirmed and remember that when I registered few months ago, the staff told me the voice plan for unifi 30/50 is not free.

The fact is there's no such free call thing when we subcribed to Unifi30/50 few months ago. But now they suddenly say it's free. doh.gif

But is there really unlimited free calls to TM numbers now? hmm.gif

Simple facts are

If you want new equipment you have to apply new line
If you want to retain free calls and same number you'll have to wait for TM marketing staff to call
If you want to retain old number and cancel free calls go to TMPoint to apply

If you go to TMPoint to apply then you can't retain free calls.

Went to TMPoint Damansara this afternoon.

Got everything I wanted. No compromises. Upgraded line, same number, free calls, new equipment. Was even offered Jumbo pack at Ruby price - i.e. RM10 instead of RM30 extra, but I declined.

How was it clinched? Spoke to the supervisor, made him look up the account in the system and pointed out flawless subscription payment record since 2011.

Well, they didn't give it to me right there.

It's an upgrade, but it looks like they are treating it like it's a new application because they are sending a technician over on Monday with everything.

Sounds a bit suspicious. Guess I will just have to check the bill properly for the next few months to make sure I am not charged for anything I shouldn't be.

Just to add, the counter girl did mention that my contract will be re-newed as of today. Doesn't make any difference to me since its just additional 2 months anyway.

That's the thing we need to find out at the moment. As we already knew, TM is very good on changing the things without telling the customers in prior. Let's take this RM20 discount for example, if they took initiative to settle all the early birds' problem, then it would have save our time at going to TM point ourself and made the request. But the truth is TM wish to keep this as quiet as possible. If the customers found out and made noise, they give discount in order to shut their mouth. If the customers don't know anything about this at all (I am sure there are some out there), TM choose to keep quiet and act innocent.

And this unlimited free calls to TM numbers, did they introduce right at the time when they announced the Unifi advance publicly? Or did they simply put this up after the real early customers like us starting to complain about the new promo price? No one knows. Even if this unlimited free calls is true, we still need to wait until the next bill to see if they really keep their promise. Do you want to take that risk? If you ask me, I won't. I rather take the RM20 discount and ignore the free calls service. That's more practical. wink.gif

TM finally called me this afternoon 1pm, after reading through all the T&C and package details. He mentioned 3 working days before package change, so I assumed they had to send a technician to the nearest hub or something sweat.gif

Can all active Unifi Advance subscribers, both 30Mbps and 50Mbps, in the Klang Valley share the IP prefix ranges you tend to get, and the best ones for streaming, remote downloading, etc?

I used to get primarily 175.143.x.x and sometimes 110.159.x.x when I was on the VIP package, but now it seems to be primarily 60.48.x.x.
