Why would ABS affect steering when you're not emergency braking? Sounds like you slowed down gradually rather than suddenly so it can't be ABS kicking in. Even if it was, it has nothing to do with your steering getting "jumpy".

It might be the speed-sensitive assistance. The higher the speed, the less power steering you get, so the stiffer it is. Maybe after you slowed down, more assistance comes back so it becomes lighter and you were caught off guard.

Good explanation, kinda makes sense, just saying from experience cause before this when I drove my dad's Pajero sport, and my cousin's Lancer X, this sorta thing happened, and their SC said it was the ABS.

Took a drive to the seaside today. Ventured into the sand, nearly got stuck but the Traction Control kicked in. Could see the light illuminate and the engine power reduced. Kinda scary but it did its job smile.gif

Maybe he meant EPS (Electric Power Steering) instead of ABS? If he really said the latter then the SC guy really needs to pick up a book, or he totally misunderstood you.

Man, that's scary. Could have been worse.

Yeah the EPS resistance, or weight changes as the speed increases. Heavier on high speed, light on slow, e.g parking lot, etc. The same applies to Ford Fiesta, which this car based it's handling from. A good benchmark.

My drive up to Penang on Monday gave me an average of 6.5l/100km with mileage about 510km at an average speed of 120km/h. Can still drive down to War Museum, queensbay mall, gurney plaza, before refueling when my tank left me with about 75km to go.

I'll be driving back to KL from Penang today with a quick stop in Taiping to visit my grandma. Let's see how my FC and mileage is on the way back at 120km/h. Hopefully traffic is clear too!

Hey, I also drove up to penang from Putrajaya. Managed to get 7.7l/100km or 12.7km/l on the PETRONAS 97. Managed to cover 427km then low furl lights up.
I was avging 120 I think. With the occasional dash to 160km/h.
Impressed how you managed to cover 510km... I can only get 400s km.... I'm driving mt1.6
I'm still in penang hehe. Lebuh chulia area

Wahh RON 97 ah.. Haha. I use Shell 95 only tongue.gif well I think maybe it was because of your 160km/h that contributed to the 7.7l/100km. Maybe the total weight contributed as well?

My trip up was almost constantly 120km/h, I never went further than that. Plus i was traveling alone with a half filled suitcase, so i suppose my car was light enough to achieve 6.5l lol. Plus in Penang I drove pretty slow and mostly on left lane. Penang drivers are scary tongue.gif

My trip back to KL yesterday was 7.5l/100km. Drove at 120km/h until Tg Malim then moved up to 140km/h all the way home

Can share why the regrets of getting the cvt?

I have both 1.3 and 1.6 cvt. Interested to know what you faced that makes mt a better choice.

Drove with my family except eldest from kota tinggi to jb yesterday afternoon in my 1.3. Was in a hurry. Going at about 100 to 110km/h, weaving through traffic, leaving behind myvis, swifts and others, except a preve tailgating me. Let him passed through when the traffic was less. Iriz turbo would have been nice...

Can we dream that proton will make like a package where existing iriz owners can upgrade/install an original turbo kit?

Yeah that's probably the reason. Got 4 ppl in the car. Tmrw when I drive back I'll try 95.
I notice some penang drivers like to have part of thier car on the side lane. Normally I just accelerate infront and push the car back to its lane/claim my lane back. But honestly, the scary part is the motorcyclists. Them young mofos ride like maniacs. One even did a one wheeler a street infront of queensbay

Actually for Iriz, using RON 97 should give you decreased hp and torque cuz 97 is less suitable for its engine. This contributed to your high fc.

I agree. This is why I am afraid to drive to penang.

Mudah already has Iriz turbo kit. RM5999. I would not advice to put it on if your driving a CVT due to the max amount of torque the CVT can handle.

My left and right rear passenger door has marks left behind by idiots who always swing their door open.
