Morning everyone, selamat hari raya to all!

Quick question; any premium spec owners experiencing situations whereby your keyfob trips antitheft sensors at shops? Makes me nervous every time i walk in/out of shops >_< worried that the shops i visit regularly might start to think im a shoplifter lol

I'm dead convinced it's because of my keyfob and the radio frequency.. Anyone know where i can have it fixed? Must go to CoE or normal service centre can do?

Try take out your keyfob and test it on the sensor lol.
*
I did, but sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. Some shop alarms ring, some dont.

Interestingly there was one instance just the other day when i was in Watsons 1st Avenue Mall Penang, the alarm tripped but my keyfob was in my hotel room. All i had on me was tapaued food, the clothes in my back that ive had for years, wallet with only cards and cash, and my phone. All of those I've had longer than my car (except food lol) and none of them have ever tripped the alarm before

I don't know la.. But is there an actual possibility that keyfobs for push to start cars can cause incidents like that?

Hello guys,

Well cut to the chase, what is the main reason you guys choose Iriz over Myvi or any other cars that fall under the budget ?
*
For the simple reasons being:
1. Perodua salesman gave me a terrible sales pitch. He was highlighting on 'this model has touch screen, that model has bodykit'.. All which are nice to have but not important enough to convince me to make a decision

2. Said Perodua salesman was really cocky with me. He was saying "You tengok ah ada banyak itu Myvi on the road.. banyak orang beli ini kereta maksudnya ini kereta banyak bagus punya".. In Truth, the Myvi never had a real competitor for almost a decade until the Iriz came along

3. I hate Myvis, I hate the way they look, and the rotten apples that drive this metal coffin gave me a bad impression on Myvi drivers in general

4. As some of you are aware, there was a rebate on 2014 models during CNY this year. I would be a stupid man to turn down an RM 8k rebate on an Iriz Premium spec which brings down the cost to slightly above the Myvi Premium X with no waiting list to top it off

5. I grew up with continental cars and always had a preference for it, and the Iriz does a good job at replicating that continental feel

6. It had a refreshing look and I honestly think they look nice

7. Please refer to Reason 3

QUOTE(fever003 @ Sep 24 2015, 10:18 AM)
I think you are the chosen one.

There is something inside your body that triggers all alarms.

Nice to meet u. laugh.gif
*
Haha nice meeting you too!

My drive up to Penang on Monday gave me an average of 6.5l/100km with mileage about 510km at an average speed of 120km/h. Can still drive down to War Museum, queensbay mall, gurney plaza, before refueling when my tank left me with about 75km to go.

I'll be driving back to KL from Penang today with a quick stop in Taiping to visit my grandma. Let's see how my FC and mileage is on the way back at 120km/h. Hopefully traffic is clear too!

Yeah! By far, I think black is the rarest of them all. Funny though, always imagined black, white and silver to be the most common.

Any reason why moon dust grey is so popular..?

Hey, I also drove up to penang from Putrajaya. Managed to get 7.7l/100km or 12.7km/l on the PETRONAS 97. Managed to cover 427km then low furl lights up.
I was avging 120 I think. With the occasional dash to 160km/h.
Impressed how you managed to cover 510km... I can only get 400s km.... I'm driving mt1.6
I'm still in penang hehe. Lebuh chulia area
*
Wahh RON 97 ah.. Haha. I use Shell 95 only tongue.gif well I think maybe it was because of your 160km/h that contributed to the 7.7l/100km. Maybe the total weight contributed as well?

My trip up was almost constantly 120km/h, I never went further than that. Plus i was traveling alone with a half filled suitcase, so i suppose my car was light enough to achieve 6.5l lol. Plus in Penang I drove pretty slow and mostly on left lane. Penang drivers are scary tongue.gif

My trip back to KL yesterday was 7.5l/100km. Drove at 120km/h until Tg Malim then moved up to 140km/h all the way home

Hi guys. I just got my 1.6 CVT yesterday. biggrin.gif
But i found 2 problems already:
1. Bluetooth phone call receiving problem. Already picked up, but the HUD still ringing  blink.gif
2. Right rear seat unable to lock back after folded it down. Tried using force few times but it still won't lock.  vmad.gif
Woohoo! Congrats, happy to know you're officially an owner! biggrin.gif

I had a problem with bluetooth call too. I gave up and just used the normal bluetooth handsfree kit instead.

Did you check if seatbelt got in the way when folding back up the rear seat? Happens to me quite often.

Highway kosong today. It's true that when the engine goes to 4k+ RPM, the engine gives a different character sound.

Of course logically it'll sound different because rev tinggi, but it's uniquely different than original sound.

First time bawa Iriz "lari lari di padang" since day 1.
*
I tested this on my way back home from work earlier. It does sound a little different, but i don't know what to feel about it. Hahaha. More excited at the fact that traffic was light today tongue.gif

hey guys! thinking to purchase an 1.6 exec. cvt, any reviews, problems or recommendation so far now?
*
Mine is 1.6 premium.. Not much difference compared to exec spec besides DRL, 6 airbags and leather seats. imo I'm very very happy with it.

I've had little to no problems with the car.. Just minor inconveniences like faulty reverse sensor (left one beeps monotonously even though nothing behind), touch screen calibration occasionally haywire, and other minor aesthetic issues.

Performance-wise.. I have zero complaints. Go for it! I would pick this baby over a myvi ANYTIME biggrin.gif

This is something my SA highlighted to me during inspection when i collected my car. He says it's normal and there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Any thoughts or comments on this, Vincent?

I'm at the service centre now for what i thought was a regular oil change. I followed the mileage written on the sticker stuck on my windshield instead of on my HUD. The admin showed me the cost just and homaigoddd RM150 for oil, air filter and some general checking?!?

I'm gonna die if this is an every 5000km thing. I'm doing sales and i easily cover 1000km in a week. Car is only like maybe 5 months old and my mileage is already at 15.5k km sad.gif

Guys, Proton Iriz service interval is 10,000km regardless of the type of engine oil used. Emailed Proton We-Care and they replied within the hour. Now SC takbleh kencing us liao say semi must change every 5000km.

This reminded me of my post last saturday when i went for oil change.

Can't remember who asked (i think it was bro adijb) which oil was used for my car. They used Petronas Syntium 800 10W/30 4L. No idea what the numbers mean except for the volume. Price is RM131.44 nett (RM124 before 6% GST)

When i went to SC last week, mileage was recorded at 15700km. Sticker on windshield indicates next oil change is 20701km (5000km later).

Given the above, can anyone tell me if my SC kencing me or it's memang supposed to be 5000km with the oil they used. I really don't know this kind of stuff la =\

Haha... I think we had to ask these things first in the forum, I didn't know you get gifts in Malaysia when you buy a car, so now, next time I will ask!  rclxms.gif

I was so happy to get a fuel tank I was like, wow, nice ok!  shocking.gif
*
Hahah. Almost every big sales transaction in this country involves gifts as a way to seal a deal. I work for a reputable hotel brand and I do this kind of thing almost daily to make sure difficult clients sign a contract with me (anything from free usage of projectors to free hotel rooms). Better to lose a little than to lose a whole piece of business biggrin.gif

Now that you mention it, I'd just noticed today the rattling sound coming from my dashboard, though I'm unsure if it's a new problem or the sound has been drowned out by music the whole time. Hahaha..

Also, am very impressed with my car. I forgot that I left my key in the back seat, but my car could still detect my key and I drove home from work with no problems biggrin.gif

I was wondering if the Iriz has the emergency stop signal? The feature that flashes the hazard lights if you slam on the brakes at high speed to warn cars behind.
*
I don't think we have this feature though. I had to slam the brakes pretty hard in front of Pavilion earlier, and I don't recall any signal lights blinking. There was only me hurling abuse and flipping the finger at the other driver lool

PM vincent818 See what he can offer you. He's from SeaPark, PJ btw if it's not too far for you.

and to your question, yes Iriz definitely worth it over the Axia. But keep in mind, Iriz FC will be higher than an Axia. But not by too much, almost the same FC like a Myvi. But then again you cannot vroom vroom in an Axia but you can in the Iriz. hahaha
*

Very diplomatic response bro! Hahaha. Yes, everything mentioned is right, so you must take that into consideration.

By right, Iriz and Axia cannot be compared because they're not direct competitors. But since he mentioned that the Iriz can match the Axia a little closer in terms of price, I say go for the Iriz and never look back.

You get a WHOLE LOT MORE safety features with the Iriz which imo outweighs little unimportant-but-nice-to-have things like touch screen, bodykits etc

Btw guys, how exactly does our remote tailgate release function work?

When you press the unlock button for more than 3 seconds, the boot unlocks only right? Still have to manually open it by pressing the button at the boot right?

Cause today while in the parking lot, I saw someone opened his car boot with his remote and it automatically pops open. Needless to say, it was an expesive car (VW Jetta) Buttt it was cool alright.. tongue.gif
*
Yes bro, you're right. Unfortunately it just unlocks the boot, and will still have to be manually opened. I find the feature quite redundant for Premium spec owners because it's faster to just open it manually while the keyfob is in their pocket.

I dream of the day when Iriz boot lids open and close at the touch of a button like in more expensive cars tongue.gif
